Wing mirrors not working!

Hi guys

My wing mirrors suddenly stopped working

The driver's side only moves up and down while the passenger side doesnt work at all.

Could it be the fuse?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks!

P.S. The folding button still works

If they move at all it isn't a fuse. Did you do anything to the car recently that could have jammed them? Did some water possibly run down into the switch?

It is rainy season over here. I dont think I ever got the switch wet.

Could there be water ingress in the mirrors?

Or the switch is broken?

Thanks again

Not sure about water in the mirrors but possible I suppose. I would be more apt to blame the switch since it works in a couple of directions but not the rest.

Do you think the switch should be the first suspect?

You have folding mirrors?
Where are you from? Is BKK in Korea? I know they are required there. Why, I don't know.
They should be required in the UK. The roads are so narrow over there you can tell the American tourists. They're the ones driving rental cars with the passenger mirror dangling on the side from contact with oncoming traffic.
But anyway, Are the folding mirrors retrofittable? It would be nice to have one on my passenger side to make more room in the garage.

If nothing has been done that could have damaged the wiring then yes that would be where I would start.
Here are the links to the service manuals that will help.

Anything can be done if you want it bad enough. Not cheap I would guess

Cheers for that

Could pharoa ants chew on those wires?

Had a few of those crawling on the car for a few days. After a few washes I hardly see one.

BKK is Bangkok

Yep BRZs over here are JDM spec and come with power folding mirrors.

I lived in the UK for a while and had a Porsche 987S whilst there with no power folding mirrors. Can absolutely relate when parked along narrow pavements and had to manually fold them

My first thought would be to check the wiring harness plugs associated with the mirrors to see if they aren't loose or corroded.
One circuit is still working.

Quick update:

Went to the garage just now and tried fiddling with the switch.

After flipping the switch and folding/unfolding the Mirror back and forth the passenger side started to Move horizontally!!

So now I have driver's side Moving vertically and passenger side horizontally.

Should I wait until the car is dry and give it another try?

Do I have to play voodoo with the car? xD
