Can't wait to find a copy of this to add to my growing magazine collection that I'm keeping with my car. Got a feeling I'll be buying magazines for quite a while.

I agree. I had been an infrequent visitor to the TG website, but after reading those posts I finally had to register so I could post this:

As the proud owner of a Scion FR-S (that's what it's called here in the States... whatevs) I have to say "excellent choice!" to Jeremy. To those of you trolls that have yet to drive one, and are therefore yet-to-be convinced of the wonders of this car, I just have to shake my head. This is the car I'd been waiting for all my life: low weight, low center (centre?) of gravity, and rear wheel drive. You can always add power and grippier tires (sorry, "tyres") later, but those three characteristics you just can't fix yourself. Toyota and Subaru have built something truly amazing, and it deserves every bit of praise thrown its way. Hopefully this car can awaken the other automakers to build something fun again, and stop worrying so much about the numbers.

Good job Subaru....um, I mean Toyota. What I mean is, good idea for a car Toyota, and great engineering execution Subaru! I have to give some credit where it is due.

No flame me, please.:happy0180:

I wonder if Toyota will want to rebadge the name to Toyota instead of scion now... Or probably make a Toyota name played version for the states.

A higher trim version like the BRZ would be nice (or at least the choice of accessories, I don't like the layout of the BRZ trims personally). Then you could either get the upscale one or the stock sport focused Scion version.

Jeremy Clarkson rocks because he always tells it like it is..no BS with him. I'd say he is correct as usual with the 86 as the car of the year.

I'm expecting more of a joke lap time where Stig will just drift the whole thing. I'd be OK with that.

I'm off to go post this on the genesis coupe forums and ask them once more why they continue to claim they have the better car.

I'm a bit confused...this is Jeremy Clarkson car of the year...not top gears overall car of the year?
Because Hammond and May announced their own cars of the year...hmm.
