New Member & have question? Read here first!

New member and have a question you wanna ask? Well, you're looking at the right thread! I made simple FAQ and quick reference thread to go to.

As for senior members, if you have any other FAQ you want to add or other good resource threads, LMK and I'll add it.

FAQ

1.
Q: Is FRS/BRZ fast? / Can FRS/BRZ beat *insert a car*?
A: Depends on "who" drive the car & where they race.

2.
Q: Does Cricket ever go away?
A: There's a lot of things been done, said & myth, but simply put it "No"

3.
Q: Can I plastidip *insert a part*?
A: It's your car, do whatever you want.

4.
Q: Can I wrap my car to *insert a color/s*
A: Again, it's your car, do whatever you want.

5.
Q: Is *insert a wheel* fit my car?
A: Check Wheels Directory or Fitment Calculator. You thought about it, someone prob done it.

6.
Q: Which mods give me most power?
A: FI or engine swap.

7.
Q: Can I drive FRS/BRZ in the winter/snow.
A: Stock tires, no. Snow tires (with/without studs) & don't drive like an idiot, yes.

8.
Q: Why FRS/BRZ paint sucks.
A: Government cracking down on VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) the weaker the paint on new cars is going to get... so take care of the paint!

9.
Q: I have *insert amount of money*, which mods should I buy?
A: There's no one answer to this. It's all comes down to WHAT YOU ARE EXPECTING FROM THIS CAR OR WHAT'S YOUR GOAL FROM THIS CAR. Best, check Member Journals. They're good resource and have a lot of information or check this thread

10.
Q: MT or AT which is better?
A: Both, buy one that fit your needs... or just read here: AT or MT?

11.
Q: I hear a strange electric motor sound after I shut off my car
A: This is a fuel pump leak test and is perfectly normal. See thread

12.
Q: Winter is coming and I want to store my car. How can I do this?
A: There are several proper way of storing your car. Read here: Basic Storage

13.
Q: My windows froze and now they won't work. What can I do?
A: Read your manual. There's a step by step you're should be doing. (Reference thread here)

14.
Q: Where can I find part numbers?
A. You can find it here in this thread plus you can download the PDF: Parts List

15.
Q: Why won't my trunk open with the fob or interior button?
A: Check the trunk lock button on the driver side of the trunk.

16.
Q: Why does my passenger seatbelt warning keep going off with the smallest thing on my seat?
A: It is not pressure sensitive. Anything with a battery (i.e. cell phones) or materials with a high moisture level (i.e. groceries) may trigger the air bag warning light.

17.
Q: Which car cover is good.
A: Choose one - Covercraft Evolution, Covercraft Noah, Rain-x, Touchless Car Cover, Weathershield HP, Coverking or you can read here

Quick Refernce:
Scion FR-S Manual

In reality, I am not sure it can be much shorter and still make the point. I understand the desire to make things short but we still need to impart some more info than "they can break".
What I meant was to the point. Like...
Q: After installing taillights, my car doesn't start.
A: Aftermarket lights can cause failure the BCM (Body Control Unit). Check ECM to see if still working or more info: ....
Kinda like that

Perfect!

& TBH I didn't know/knew about that issue was a common issue

May I suggest a part that states something along the lines of reading the car's manual?

Dunno if it'll be under FAQs or somewhere else...

I noticed the BRZ has the owner's manual listed as a stickied thread so here's a link to the FRS. All people have to do is quickly navigate through the dropdown lists and all manuals that come with the car is displayed.

https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo...arch_docs_page

If I may also add another suggestion: google search "site:ft86club.com/forums [keyword search here]" without the brackets and quotation marks. So glad I saw a few members bringing that up a few months back. Saved me from creating many threads.

For example: site:ft86club.com/forums lowering springs

Thought bout the Owner's Manual vs Service Manual... or maybe add both for quick reference. I just went with Service Manual, cuz they might have more question about service more, so I only made service manual quick reference.

As for the forum, I usually do *whatever I'm search* and add "ft86club" and it's usually comes up in first search. Not sure "site:ft86club.com/forums" is necessary needed... but that's just me

Good one to link to the " I have *insert amount of money*, which mods should I buy?" question?

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96518

You will notice that in order to keep the focus on the first post I have deleted all mine that have followed. Want to keep this clean and easy to read.
