Anyway I'm 100% sure it says CoG and not the centerline of the crank in the brochure. Try Google-translating "center of gravity" to Japanese and you'll see that it's "重力の中心" or "重心", exactly the wording in the brochure. |

When you sit in car like this and the weight dist is 53/47, depending on the weight of the person you can cause some rearward bias to make it closer to 52/48 or 51/49? Also putting the battery in the trunk helps too.

That would destroy the trunk space.
Some things I saw from the pics: -460mm from ground to the center of the crank (low CG) -53:47 F/R weight split -Cd (coefficient of drag) of 0.27 (this is really good) -D-4S tech (direct injection pairs with secondary EFI) -1,998cc Displacement -200 HP -151.2 ft-lbs torque -12.5:1 Compression ratio (I guessing on this one, and I really hope I'm wrong) -86mmx86mm bore/stroke -Mcpherson suspension front/ Double A-arm rear -Rear seats fold (as one unit) -Cup holders can slide -Can carry 4 tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Awsome trunk hinges (no goose neck as mentioned above) -The rest is up to you Hachi |

No direct translation I'd guess.

12.5:1 will make boosting safely on the stock internals very difficult, probably why we don't have a TRD FI option yet

With a square bore and stroke at half a liter per cylinder, wouldn't we be able to spin the living HELL out of this puppy!
Can you imagine how this will sound at 8.5K! |

Excellent!
Love the drag coefficient being 0.27. It also makes sense now seeing the 4 tire diagram, how they expect us to transport track tires. The fold-down rear seat looks useful. Interesting to see they're bragging about a 500mL bottle fitting in the door pocket. The engine specs look good; 12.5:1 static CR is typical for n/a DI. The problem I see is the torque/power graph; it doesn't jive at all with the 197HP peak @ 7k RPM and 151LbFt peak @ 6600 RPM. There's no numerals for RPM on the graph, however torque and power peak appear to be much further than 400 RPM apart, more like 1400 RPM apart. Also, I'm not a fan of that torque curve; it's too much like an n/a 2ZZ or F20; it won't feel natural, linear, or flexible like the Miata engine. Edit; just noticed the 7400 RPM redline, not bad.
