Clutch Chatter & Traction Control?

Has anyone else on here experienced any sort of clutch chatter with their car? (at least i'm assuming that's what it is)

it doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes as i'm in neutral slowing down i will hear a clattering sound, hit my clutch and it will stop.

Anyone know anything about this?

And also, i'm assuming when I hit my traction control button it's supposed to light up on my dash, right? nothing is lighting up...only when i hit the sport button, then both show up

anyone have any insight? or shall i make the trip back out to the dealer?

Isn't the rattle from the dual-mass (or something like that) flywheel? I know that the OEM flywheel on Toyota Supras made the same noise.

If you press and hold Traction Controll off button for 5-6 seconds there should be some light @ dashbord.

If you are going faster then 31mph, you cannot turn the traction control off by just pushing the button. You need to hold it in for 3 seconds. The sport button can be turned on/off whenever.

Try turning your traction control off when you are stopped, the light on the dash should light up. Then accelerate past 31mph, if the light turns off when you reach 31mph, it's working properly.

Got it! Thanks!

Now what's the deal with this annoying clutch chatter?

My suggestion is to read the owners manual - it will tell you how to operate all these types of functions and why they work the way they do.

I believe it is a similar problem other members have had.

Thread here

There is a video in that thread. Although that thread doesn't clear much up, lol.

I believe you're hearing the noise of direct injection. The first video in that thread is it. If that's the noise you're hearing, then it's normal.

if the FR-S has a dual mass, it will make noise from time to time. ive had several different cars with them and they all chatter occasionally
