From my understanding, a build order is just the dealership putting down a preference for allocation. Toyota will ship each dealer a certain number of GR86 as needed to maintain a certain number of vehicles varying from transmission, trim level, color, and addons. The system will then allocate the vehicles accordingly to each dealership probably per some Toyota algorithm and attempt to accommodate those preferences. However, since multiple dealerships can have the same preferences then it's up in the air how long the wait will be to get that vehicle.

What color / trim did you go with ? Most likely our vehicles where on same truck.

This is what my salesman told me. He said he put in for manuals but got 2 auto's.
