PIDs or direct from CAN, either way, how do we log it simultaneously with the other pertinent parameters? Torque app can do this? What do you need?

Edit: Better yet somebody define the traction control maps and we can just alter the maps, if that's possible. "reflash" the VSC module lol

It's in an app called OBD Fusion - however it's a paid addon, and the downside is that the PID formula isn't shown (you can only access the values) so along with individual wheel speeds you can monitor these VSC parameters below.

Thanks so much for the guide.

I swapped a 2019 ABS module into my 2015 and it just works, didn't even get an ABS light after.

The only thing I'd add is that, when disconnecting the module, push the lever all the way up until it clicks to release it. It took me longer than it should have to figure out why it wouldn't let go of the connector. =)

I put a 2018 VSC module in my 2016 BRZ and now my radio is messed up?? It won't let me play anything but this song

Edit: Seriously though, I bought a module from Mike_ZN6 on here, installed it in less than 10 minutes since I didn't have to re-pin anything and a regular 4 mm socket works on the 4 mm e-torx (thanks for that tip!). I didn't disconnect the battery during installation, but my key fob wasn't anywhere near the car. Slapped it on and fired it up; saw no warning lights whatsoever. The VSC Sport button required a 1-second press instead of being instant-on as described. Later that evening I took a U-turn like a complete asshole and only when I got close to one full turn of counter-steering did VSC kick in like "Easy there, Keiichi" and just nudged the rear end back into line instead of shutting down the whole party like Sport Mode used to. Definitely a worthwhile mod. It'll be nice having a safety net instead of having to choose between training wheels or nothing at all on track days.

Hi, just a question, I too noticed that the VCS sport now requires a longer press to activate.

Does your TRC button works the same as before the swap?
mine does not. If I hold it for 3+ seconds it lights up the TRC off and the ESP icon as before, but when i press it and immediately let go, on the old module it would light up only the TRC off light (and if i went 40+ it would engage again the TRC and the light would go off). Now if i press the trc button and let go no lights turn on....
it is strange. did I lose the feature?
not that i ever used it, just to know....

I have a 2013 with this mod and I have retained the “bad road mode” which is the immediate press of the TRC button. What year is your car?

Thank you for the fantastic thread and information. Picked up 2017 VSC module for my 2015 FRS MT and plug and play just as described. Can't wait to get it on the track at Mid-Ohio in a couple of weeks!

Anyone running this mod on a daily driver? I have a 2013 and this looks VERY tempting...

Any undesirable side effects?

Thanks!

I daily mine, no side effects. I haven't activated the hill climb assist but many people say it's more annoying than helpful.

Wish me luck...

Found a 2017 MT, non PP unit for $99... but the recommended LeeC/417 sellers on ebay now want $300-$350 for these, so shop around. It is probably a little early for me to say I got a deal; I am still a bit nervous until I can inspect the date codes and part numbers to see if it really is the unit I need. Oh well, looking forward to this!!!

Other than going out and trying to slide... is there a quick way to verify the new functionality is operating correctly? I may get a chance to do the swap this weekend - would be nice to know it is all working correctly after I am done but before I really need it!
