I don't intend to give up on interesting cars . Right now, my sights are set on a Jaguar XE S (I'll let you read that backwards btw). Now if only I could find a British Racing Green one...

Though about STIs / Evos, etc. but they're very, very hard to find here, and command ridiculous prices on the used market. Plus, I'm not big on cars with picnic tables on the trunk!

I'll stick around anyway, if only because typing the forum's URL has become muscle memory

If the glass was still good, you could've used a ballpein hammer to tweek it to look like a golf ball. Heard it gets better milage that way.

Curious how you learned to color sand? I'm interested in doing this with my 10-Series but, with my luck, would ruin the whole paint job.

I was fortunate that in high school I was able to do my co-op at a reputable auto body shop where I was able to learn a little bit.
I am by no means an expert with color sanding but with paint correction as my side hustle biz the two are slowly starting to come together.

With OEM paint i would recommend grabbing a paint depth gauge to make sure you still have decent amount of clear coat to work with. I only sanded the areas that had been resprayed via insurance last year with lots of paint to work with.
If you are interested I'd grab a junk panel from a wrecker to play with. You'll learn fast. If you want pad and polish compound recommendations feel free to reach out.

Cleaned up my crusty set of yellows for a buddy. Just need to go over the black bits to remove sticky finger marks

Installed VLAND taillights, replaced the serpentine belt, and replaced differential oil.

Belt got shredded on the road but just half of the ribs were gone. So I could arrive home limping to replace it with the new one which has been waiting in the garage since last year because of my laziness ... lucky me

Differential oil was like mud after 55K miles, but not jellied yet. Lucky me ... again.

I gotta replace the recirculation valve next before damaging the compressor. JR has a TurboSmart upgrade option. Then, rear brake disc and pads needs to be replaced for which parts have been waiting since more than a year again

House projects indeed. Will be allocated to adulting for a bit. My car is about to cross 160k km, I figure it would be smarter to start saving for an FA24 when the time comes.
