It is extremely frustrating for us as vendors.

Essentially being cut off mid-conversation with people through PMs...it's unacceptable. Fortunately most know we're pretty available and easy to find elsewhere but it doesn't feel like we should be paying a vendor fee at this point.

There is a ton of information and incredibly well documented stuff on this site that I refer back to all the time. For us it's pretty much the only remaining forum we see as active.

Facebook stinks, there's a lot of vendor shadiness on top of the generally poor platform/layout/fragmentation to discuss or document things.

I sure do hope this site survives.

I agree - this forum has been a GREAT resource over the many years that I was on the fence about getting into the FRS/86/BRZ platform, and in my years since finally taking the plunge. There have been great discussions and lots of very useful information, and I do hope it survives / thrives.

While I don't have time personally for any kind of longer-term ongoing role, I would be happy to assist (as someone with an IT background) with migrating / upgrading to a newer version of vBulletin if it would help improve the performance / downtime issues and keep this forum running!

Owners could migrate the forum to VBCloud and then its on their servers, they do the maintenance and upgrades.

I did that for the one forum I own/run, and it's like 10000% easier now. No downtime and stays current. Plus when they migrate it it gets upgraded. It was seamless for me.

I was going to suggest that as well after doing a bit of research! Not sure what subscription tier would be required for this site's traffic though.

And because the search features are so terrible, no one can say "search n00b" because searching brings up the most irrelevant crap in the group.

Unfortunately, the search function in both FB and here are both pretty awful. Learning the right questions is an art and has been the Achilles heel of the internet since the beginning.

This is one area where AI does bring some hope because it does a reasonably good job of interpreting our stupid questions into useful information.

I find myself just googling and it brings me ft86club sites. You can also filter your search for just website.

Not really excusing the search on this site lol. I hope ft86club keeps going and gets better. It really is a great forum !

For searching google is good. I punch in roughly what I'm looking for followed by either "FRS BRZ" or "FT86club" and I always get tons of results

I agree, so do I. In fact, that's the best way to search this or any other forum. However, you have some clue what you're doing, right?

Noobs, not so much.

No way in hell want this forum to die and does not wish on that to happen. I know over the year, these car forums dies 1-by-1... but If admin just upgrade and let me have tiny bit more power to take care new member approval and few other things, I think, it's golden. But that's just my 2 yen

I remember 86EXPO and a LOT of other great stuff in the early years. Thanks Ichi!

This has been my go-to place for all my questions and has been extremely helpful through the almost 10 years I've had this platform.

I've always found it a bit annoying whenever someone asks a "simple" question on FB when they could've just googled the same question. Like others have stated, adding "FT86Club" at the end of each search will likely find the solution. If not here, I'm sure someone has uploaded a how-to on youtube.

Can't thank enough to those who keep this site alive, especially those that create complete and thorough how-to guides.
