Since the cars seems to be a nice hybrid between toyota and subaru just wanted to know who made the drivetrain. I wanted to know if to go with toyota or suby oem fluids. Thanks

Lets tell toyota to give us the FRS HYBRID SEDAN: 260 HP, 40 MPG and only $3K more. I would kill for that with the gas prices so high!!! hat do you think boys???? Just another option for us

Center of Gravity

If this has been talked about elsewhere, can't find it. Toyota claims the GT86's 460 mm C of G height is surpassed only by exotic cars like the Ferrari 360 and the Lexus LFA. I dug up a 2010 SAE paper that lists "driver only" centers of gravity measurements of older cars. As expected, almost all cars listed have higher C of Gs (e.g., the 2003 Honda S2000 is 471 mm). However, the 2003 Mazda Miata is only 450 mm. Does this car not count because it's not a coupe? Or did Toyota conveniently choose to ignore the Mazda?

Probably because the Miata and S2000 don't have fixed hardtop roofs which I'm assuming takes away a lot of the weight up top?

That was my thinking too. Even without a roof the S2000 has a higher CG than the F86, which shows the advantage of the boxer engine.

If you have a manual then you are pretty much open to use what ever fluids you want in terms of transmission and diff (pretty much any brand you want based on your needs) but it still uses Subaru blue coolant which is rebranded at Toyota to be super blue .

If you have an automatic the it's Toyota ws auto fluid for the tranny and and Subaru coolant or Toyota super blue other then that diff is pretty much anyone's game motul, redline, royal... what ever tickles your fancy

Now with motor oil there is entire sections dedicated to that . Just depends on your needs I am a firm believer that 0w20 is not good for our Motors.
