I'd just call around, or visit, your local Subaru dealerships first. I stopped by the one closest to me last Friday and there were 4 BRZs on the lot, of which only one had a "sold" tag hanging from the rear-view mirror. (Not saying the others aren't sold... just what I could see while walking through the rows of cars.)

They also had an assortment of other cars in stock too (Crosstreks, Outbacks, and 8 WRXs), which is surprising given how bare most other dealership lots have been lately. Local Toyota lots are still basically empty of any new vehicles.

Maybe I visited on a good day, maybe they're an outlier.... 'dunno.

Hey @Rustyoid ... with some folk here getting their cars recently, I'm guessing the allocations going to dealers lately are already accounted for, leaving minimal or no stock allocations for us to try and snipe?

I contacted the dealership the day Rusty posted this, and the salesperson I spoke to confirmed to me that the car was in fact still available.

Hooray.

She then promised to call me back with more info, iron out the details, etc. A few days later I hadn't heard anything, so called back myself and subsequently was given excuse after excuse as to why I couldn't have the car.

Suffice to say I was irritated... but not terribly surprised. It's Richmond Hill after all. Some rich daddy will probably pay ten grand over sticker for his kid's 16th bday present.

I think they'd have a better chance of getting something close to that if it was a 6 speed manual. Can you say GR Supra range...? Gezzz.... but hey, if someone will pay that, more power to them.

A little late but picked mine up this past Sunday! Deposit placed December 2021 and got a call from the dealership it arrived March 31st 2023. A decent wait for a Halo Premium MT but well worth the wait!

PS. The GR Exhaust, Fender Vent, Shift Knob and Air Filter were all installed at the port fwiw.

I have been trying to do a deal at the local Subaru dealer. He has two BRZ in stock. One manual, One auto. He has nine vin's for cars coming in in the next 10 weeks. Only two base models tho. Next problem is he has a couple of grand of padding on the bill. If I can chisel another grand off the price i would take one. Meanwhile the Toyota dealer still has no idea when they will get anything.

So question to the forum folks, I was hoping to get a Red Gr86 but doesn't sound like they are aware of any coming into Canada (at least none allocated at this time) for the rest of the year. I was offered a white one same spec but I would get it in July...or do I continue the wait and hold out for possibly the rest of the year to get a red one?

I miss driving something fun....

I put a deposit back last July for a Halo MT... at this point I'd take any colour.

I just got a call from my dealer. My Halo Premium MT is coming in July. I ordered in February of 2022 (14 months ago)
