Canadian Stock Allocations

Quite curious where all the Special Editions ended up. I am told by my dealer they have all been allocated now and I would not be getting one.
From @Rustyoid lists above looks like 9 AT and 3 MT accounted for. Maybe 8 mystery MT's will land on the West

Unfortunately, I think I "missed" the remaining allocations.

These were released to dealers either late on a friday, or on the following saturday. By monday these were all the allocations I could see in the dealer trade app. I think that the missing allocations were tagged off as sold by the respective dealers on that fri/sat before I had a chance to view them. But I could be wrong, I've still been checking to see just in case :shrug:

Just came across a FB post from OpenRoad Toyota in BC saying they have one (Another AT) incoming Feb 28 still up for grabs. As of Jan 31. I’m guessing it’s “sold” by now and thinking the price was marked up quite a bit with mandatory “extras” Still nice to see one potentially show up in BC.

$47,820 before tax. Still available.

The price for the "mandatory" extras isn't really that bad since at least you are getting something for it and not just marked up with zero value.

Oh I don't disagree. I meant there is some value as opposed to straight markup without anything being actually added to the car. I would at least feel a little better about getting some stuff for my money.

Honestly excessive markups on those products make me feel even worse than just a market adjustment. The dealer cost in a "Pro pack" is like $200 its a scam lol, I'd rather see them be honest and just advertise a market adjustment

That is a valid point as well. The $2500 "Pro Pak"is more than just the Diamond coat though. It isn't something I would ask for but again at least it is something for my money.

Yeah at least the addons are overpriced (somewhat) useful things, rather than just a "give us more money because we can add it on" thing.

I'd much rather get some overpriced product for my marked up dollars than giving it away as mandatory "charitable" donation to the dealership for no reason.

I mean its kind of the same thing as compromising on the discount negotiation....if you cant get any money off the price then you try to negotiate in some additional accessories.

Hi all - looking for some views. I’m looking to get a red MT premium, willing to consider a red AT premium. Ive got a 2020 BRZ I picked up new in July ‘20 that’s only got 18k on it, so I’m in no specific rush, but sooner is always better. I live in the GTA, but willing to haul a$$ a few 100 clicks if it gets me what I’m after. So, aside from monitoring this list and calling, if I had to pick one dealer to place a deposit and get on a list, which one should it be? My thinking is Don Valley on basis of volume, given how specific my wants are, but I’m not sure.

I have bought cars from top tier sales guys at Mississauga Toyota and Oakville Toyota, but it sounds like those relationships are of zero value in this allocation process.

So what dealer do I go to and make a deposit and play roulette for 6-24 months?

I would spread your deposit money around.

If you are willing to trade the BRZ in (and take a beating), might move you up the list.
