They may mostly be held, but it's still very useful to get these lists. I got my car because I called inquiring about every local car I wanted and eventually got lucky.

This is going to be the cheapest car around on which the depreciation for the first few years will be next to zero, you typically see that on more expensive cars like the CTR or M2...

Ugh... something tells me the GR 86 I ordered in July will still be a long while, as in another year, maybe more.

I was at my local dealer to place an allocation on a RAV4 last week and he told me they received 4 GR 86's last year, none since last July.

I totally get that there is a higher demand than capacity, but as someone now sitting and waiting on 3 different cars from 2 manufacturers (1xICE, 1xHybrid, 1xEV) it's a real test in patience.

Same... but aside from buying used, there's not much else to do.

A friend of mine found it tiring waiting for his Tundra Platinum... 7 months. I'm like "dude, I'll bet Toyota could have built my GR86 three times over with the raw material and computer chips needed for your one truck".

Maybe the forecast insane summer gas prices will scare some off the wait lists and I can possibly score a Halo or Steel by June...... Probably not.

If you mean by June 2024, yes you might have a chance.

Just be thankful you aren’t looking for a Golf R, about 3000 folks are parked on Canadian waiting lists with around 30 Rs anticipated nationally for the whole year.

Same boat, placed an order in July too and I got word from the sales lead at my dealership that they haven't gotten one in 5 months (Sept was their last one I think). Mild annoyance is that they won't tell me what position on their master list I'm at. When I put my deposit down, I was #4 or #5 at that dealership, so if I'm optimistic, there's only 2 or 3 folks in front of me.
