The return of Aptera? 1000 Mile Range Solar Vehicle
Details are a little murky. From delivery being pushed to 2023-2024 but with some promising features.
You could either charge it one of twice a year, to no charge at all with a self charge while driving, or being parked. Offered with different battery options with either FWD or AWD, with the AWD having a 3.5Sec 0-60MPH with a limiter set to 160KM/H. Specs: https://aptera.us/wp-content/uploads...Specs-2022.pdf Vehicle: https://aptera.us/vehicle/ Looks like something out of Spy Kids, if you ask me. That actually might be realistic - going with lightweight to get more range and more performance, instead of adding more battery. A 40 KWh battery in an older Leaf gets you 150 miles. Here they claim 400.
Still, this is probably a pipe dream of a car, but it does raise my hopes for an EV Miata or Elise like sports car in the near future - lightweight, small battery pack and modest performance but with decent range to get to the twisties and have some fun. |

This is one of those cars that has been around for a while, with big promises and no delivery on those promises. If I recall it started out as a 100MPG ICE, which failed for a number of reasons and now its back as an EV.
As @Sasquachulator says I'll believe it when I see it, but still wouldn't buy it.

at this point, just about anything new-tech and 3-wheeled seems to be vaporware.
something about how if multi-billion dollar car companies can't figure out how to do it under all the rules and regulations of 4-wheeled legislation, these companies are convinced that skirting all of those regulations by dropping down to motorcycle regulations is going to be enough to fix it.

You might like to amend your title. As it is you are posting about a one thousand meter range.
