205/50 r17 winter tire fitment on 2022 brz
Many people say this is the ideal winter tire for traction and price in the winter on the new brz. Is this true? Anyone who has this setup on the new gen?

I am running 205/55/R16's currently for my winter setup. There is quite a bit of extra movement in the rear at highway speeds, hopefully this will go away as I put the miles on these studded winter tires. I guess most ppl call it squirm. It could be that these tires are just that soft, which in the right conditions would be exactly what you want. But on dry roads, especially highways, it definitely squirms more. Dangerous squirm? Nah, just maybe not the ideal road trip tires lol. Because my studs are getting trashed on the dry roads, I may invest in another set of wheels/tires for when the roads are dry and its not -30C. In those -30C conditions the studs will 100% save your bacon when someone infront of you does something stupid, and that's guaranteed to happen eventually, if not daily lol depends where you live.

I went stock size on 17s. The sottozeros feel great in dry conditions and perform decently on snow and ice. That being said, if you need to drive on ice regularly I would go with something more suitable.
