Oil leak (please HELP) trans-oilpan?
Hello guys today i noticed oil leak somewhere between oil pan and transmittion. I didn't scratched or hit bottom of car also I wasn't messing up with bolts on trans. When I'm driving, putting 2nd gear is little bit hard but it was there since I bought the car so everything seem normal when shifting. Also I think I can see flywheel, is it normal?
Between oil pan and trans there is something like foam which is soaked full of oil. Please help |

Good pictures! Did you buy your car new or used? How many miles on the car? I would suggest that you clean up the areas where you see the oil seepage then see if it comes back. If oil isn't "dripping" from those spots, I wouldn't worry much about it. I'm going to refer you to our oil pan/transmission expert, ol @Ultramaroon for his input. |

Car is 2012 120.000 km I bought it used 2 and half years ago and there was no problem whatsoever. Tomorrow I will crean everything with brake cleaner and hopefully see where the problem is. Oil is not dripping but I can see some fresh oil on those parts so iam worried it can get worse overtime. Also I think it's too much oil leake even if it's not dripping. |

If that is 2 and a half years of build up and it bothers you I would clean it once a year and not worry about it.

What is the highest point on the engine where the oil leak can be seen?
If none is seen above the oil pan I will guess that it is time to change the rear main oil seal. I wouldn't worry until it starts actually dripping.

Actually I have no idea but I guess it is leaking through this foam parts which are sucked full of new oil.. you mean main oil seal of oil pan? There is old buildup but also a lot of new oil...

Google "rear main oil seal." You'll see what I mean. Crankshaft goes through it.

Ok guys I don't know but I think you are making fun of me 😁 from the factory you have clean car with no leaks... It's 21 century no 19th or 20... And I think when something start leaking when it's oil or even water or gas you have to solve it and repair it... So when I see my car leaking iam worried, don't get me wrong... Maybe I should relax.. 😁

It probably is the rear main seal but even when it starts dripping, as long as it's not low on oil, don't worry. The seal can be replaced when convenient.
