Pool of water in trunk and rear seats
Hey guys,
Recently I've noticed that my rear seats were moldy and wet. After that, I checked the rear of the car and noticed a pool of water underneath my spare tire. I've also attached photos of the lights. I was wondering if anyone else has had these issues. |

I think in this case it's safe to assume the tail light gaskets are leaking and that's where the water is coming from. It's a common issue on these cars. I used oem gaskets with 3m yellow sealant. Another option I know of is the gasket ninja gaskets are supposed to be much better than oem. Also if you pop out the plugs in the spare tire well the water will drain right out plus you can leave them out until the problem gets fixed.

Another question, are they factory tails? @Brz866 I believe the common problem is for condensation/water IN the tails lights, not water leaking into the trunk.
The latter FWIW is usually from people swapping to aftermarket tail lights and not moving the seals over. |

Check the drain channels around the top of the tails and make sure they are not blocked with debris. I had a bunch of crap in there one fall that made the water back up into the trunk.
