Well, if it isn't raining, there's a general meet up at Trackwerks on Merivale Rd starting around 6:00pm Fridays. When tgat breaks up, some of us show up at the Wendy's/Tims at the NE corner of Merivale and Meadowlands.

Another group started out from the T&T Asian grocery store at the SE corner of Hunt Club Rd and Riverside Drive around 6:00pm and then they head to Burgers and Shakes restaurant a little further south of there.

You could also join the Ottawa Ft86club Club Facebook group to get more current info. This forum is now the back up method (and our good friend @Pbrown 's only contact with us 😂 ).

I plan on being to one of those venues this Friday night, weather permitting of course

Cheers
Ken

Good to see @Pbrown out today on Strandherd .
I was in a convoy of cars from work going to BVR for lunch, so they saw another weirdo who fixes up his car
They all liked the BuddyClub tailights - " hey do yours do that too?" No "too bad they're cool" thanks Paul

M&M should be busy, NO RAIN finally.

It's the @Pbrown forum! 😂

I was at CMP Lapping tonight - perfect weather and 45 cars!
I managed 24 laps in about 75 mins or so. The last lap was red flagged and then black/checkered due to a 944 going off around turn 12-14?

I made my way home via the 511 - awesome no traffic
I hit up M&M at 9-9:40 it was just getting going really.

I can't make RCR tomorrow, but I plan on going on Wednesday next week.

Cheers
Ken

My name's Alex, I'll definitely be in the area that weekend now, so count me in unless something crazy happens.

Finally no longer going to lurk in the shadows here! I just picked myself up a 2016 Scion FR-S. It was still brand new on the lot here in Ottawa. The last FR-S in Ottawa. Got it from Bel-Air Toyota at McArthur. It is an automatic so that the gf can drive it too. Paddle shifters are really fun to use!

Hey!

I have a 2013 Ultramarine FR-S, automatic. I got it cuz I can't drive manual (well enough to not abuse my new car at the time)

I still take mine to the track (Calabogie) and the suspension is heavily modified. Mine looks pretty anyway

Crappy car meet season, but make sure you check out the Fall Cruise on Sept 24 - there is a post a little further up about it.

Cheers,
Ken

I've been driving manual since I got my license when I was 16.. a whopping 9 years ago haha. Just started getting a sore knee when driving my old manual 2006 Yaris RS and it needed too much money to be put into it to be worth it so I got a new car! Last 2016 scion in Ottawa, dealership wanted to get rid of it so it was good timing I guess. Automatic is fun, still liking it here! GF still hasn't driven the car yet but it's only a matter of time before she does.

Do you have a transmission cooler on your car at all or you haven't had any crazy transmission temperatures at Calabogie?

First thing I'll be doing with this car next year is autocross maybe once or twice (Won't have much spare cash because of our wedding coming up...). I would love to go to the track but figured it'd be cheaper to do autocross a couple times. I may keep an eye out for the beginner events for Onemorelap next year though!

I noticed the post for the cruise on Sept 24th. Not sure if I can go or not yet but will definitely think about it!

Where exactly is the cruise going to be going? Is there a planned route already?

Yes the route is planned. I found a bunch of decent winding roads between Richmond Westport and Calabogie and threw together a 3 hour "ish" route with some roads that I assure you have never seen before
