Personally I like it. Otherwise it's just a bunch of random people running around killing zombies. That'll work for a movie but not a TV show for years.
I am with you on this. Knowing the back story makes them more "real" in my mind. Without it they are just more zombie fodder.

I agree too. I thought that was a very good episode, only 2 actors (and a goat) for 90 minutes and it didn't even seem like 90 minutes, they did a great job. I think this is what makes this show stand out from most shows on TV, the writers, directors, producers can pull off episodes like this. TWD is so much more than just killing zombies.

I fucking loved last nights episode! It had none of the pointless manufactured drama that plagues other downtime episodes, just a no-fat, prime cut character development.

After being disappointed by LOST / Battle Star Galactica ... where writers basically give up on the story and begin making up crap.. it's nice to see a complete backstory that makes sense... (non-comic reader)

Although they did not cover how the 'W' people (Wolves) knew him from before ? Maybe I missed a previous episode / scene ?

Another sore point... why would a walker stop eating a fresh goat kill to go after a human? Seems that once they are eating they are quite happy and distracted ??!

You are correct in that the two have encountered each other previously. The Wolf that Morgan has locked up is the same guy that came to his camp earlier. The guy tried to murder/rob him and Morgan disarmed him tried to get him to leave peacefully and reflect on his ways.

Ha I didn't even realize it was 90 minutes until reading this thread.

I liked this episode. Slow, but not slow like the usual walking dead slow. good character development, made me like Morgan even more.

I agree those are necessary and builds the story but I just really wanna find out what happens and if Glenn is really dead As far as character development episodes go, it's a better one than the the others. Was wondering how Morgan turned into Yoda in a zombie apocalypse world.

And the only fatality I have ever been upset by.
Morgan walks into the yard and I see the zombie eating and start thinking "No not the goat, NOT THE GOAT".
Pretty sure I teared up a little.

When did Maggie announce the thing they said she announced? I somehow missed that part.
