Im gonna be in halifax this weekend so I will miss M&M once again. I had my car jacked up and noticed that my struts are bleeding out. Not sure how concerned I should be or how long it will be until they looses there effectiveness? guess I will have a few days off to shop for coil overs My crooked magna flow actually burned a hole in my bumper at the track as well but I suppose I'm best to wait for someone to rear end me again since its not overly noticeable. Any suspension recommendations?

Not sure if you saw the earlier posts, but M&M is toast. The property managers had the police giving warnings last week.

Regarding the struts, are you running lowering springs? Seems odd that they would be failing this quickly.

Yeah I saw that but I don't think loitering warnings are going to keep many away.

I have the 1.4'' eibach springs. Must have been those damn Quebecoui roads! :thumb down:

Yeah, strange that your struts would be gone already. Mine are still good despite the loads of abuse at the track plus winter driving.
Big leak or just a bit of seepage?

Well believe or not, one of the best roads I've been on in Canada is the new 30 that connects off the 401 (40). It'll lead you right to the Champlian bridge (which is not so bad) and our offices are right there. It's a very smooth ride from Ottawa actually.

I'll make a drop/slammed friendly route for everyone just in case

it's hard to tell but the strut shaft and surrounding area on the plastic fender liner is all saturated. I didn't check the rear but both fronts are the same.

Well unless I'm mistaken, @Slick you're running the Pro Kit which can be ran on the stock struts while @86gt? seems to be running the Sportlines, which aren't usually recommended on stock struts (at least I had to use Konis to run Sportlines on my Mazda)

Yep, 1.4" drop sounds like the Sportlines which can be a bit harsh with the OEM shocks. Did you trim the bumpstops or just swap them over?

The stocks shocks are do-able with the ProKit but I can tell they are not keeping up with the transitions at Bogie, so need to alter my line or be smoother. So yeah, stock shocks are marginal for ProKit, not recommended for Sportlines.

Then I guess I shouldn't bother with Prokit / RCE Tarmacs and get some entry levels coils ..

There's a lot of debate on the coilovers vs struts and springs.

Are you going to netlist driving it in the winter? If yes then a dedicated strut/spring setup is probably better since it has less moving parts. Finding the "right" setup is more of an issue than with coilovers since you can't adjust it.

I have seen a lot of decent things about the fortune 500's.

I was considering going air but I just don't want to have to try and fix shit when it breaks so I am probably going coils and they are at the top of the list for me at the moment. (We all know how things chage though haha it's hard to decide :P )

Naw, mine is stored for the winter. My biggest problem is the budget, hence why I'm looking to buy used

ST coilovers are awesome for DD. I just installed a set about a month ago. Love them!

Just a bit stiffer than stock. Significantly less body roll. and -0.8 to -2.0 inches of drop.

I got them from trackwerks for about $1000 all in
