Hmm, need winter tires. Should I go just running on steelies or get a slightly better looking rim. Ideas?

I was thinking about http://www.coreracingwheels.ca/Styles/Lizea/Silver for 99 a rim.

What are you running for summer wheels?
If stock, would suggest doing what I and others have done. Run your OEM wheels with your winter tires, gives you an excuse to buy better wheels for summer!

Just running stock for now. Was thinking about doing that as well but was thinking about dropping down to 16" for winter unless it doesn't make much of a difference?

Edit: Okay, changed mind to just buy winters for stock rims and get nicer tires next summer.

As long as you get good tires, that is the key. Realistically, 16" winters are better, but the quality of the tires is more important.

Now you can justify getting 18" summers, lol...

Welcome, btw.

Yep, getting the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2. I had the Hakka R on my previous car, Corolla, and they were awesome.

Definitely and thanks, have some plans for this car.

also a very solid winter tire is the general tire altimax arctic. i've had those on multiple cars and they were amazing never even got close to getting stuck with them.

Last autocross this weekend for all that are thinking about coming out it's a great time to give it a shot so you can experience it before next year starts! @86gt? You going to bring the beast out? @Klinn you ready for the final round? Also you get those sponsorship checks yet? I just submitted for my 2 today

I haven't seen one 86 or BRZ between London Oxford Silverstone & Bristol
found some roads that you guys would love - a little dicey in a rather large Toyota Auris (look it up) and on the "wrong" side to boot!
Drove thru Bristol at home-time rush hour yesterday - my Garmin did Ok but I find it is a little slow to react if you do manage to go off course and I have just figured out that it doesn't tell you "recalcuating" so if you don't see that you messed up you just keep going wondering why the eta changes longer lol
back to Silverstone this weekend for BTCC and then Santa Pod for JAP show and drag racing - lots of supras gtrs and a bunch of cars you wouldn't see drag racing ecept here lol - hopefully some 86"s will be there in the showfield
later
