yeah the VVTi rattley noise is present even on factory tune, often made more pronounced in stage 1 tunes without header. could be this header design brings it out more too.

Would changing the headers void my warranty?

If they can prove it caused what failed, yes. Read the millions of internet threads on mods and warranty (Magnuson-Moss Act) So be prepared to fight anything drivetrain related and to likely lose.

welcome to the forums! mostly nice people here, especially in the local NorCal forum ... but in the main areas some people will happily rip your head off if you ask a question that has been asked many many times and if you could have searched for an answer first before asking. That's generally the etiquette on forums, do a search for a few minutes and see what comes up, before you ask, there is a wealth of information out there if you know how to search for it.

Another really useful resource is to come out to the local meets. We're pretty casual and very welcoming, so if you have questions about stuff usually you can get some answers by talking to some of the more experienced car guys.

whoops haha don't know if you realized but you are visiting in the Northern California regional forums. Check out the Southwest forums for Texas meets and to introduce yourself to the Houston86 folks. I'm sure they are just as welcoming as we are. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15
