It is generally accepted that cross using those three things is a bad, bad idea.

With one exception...

Yeah I prefer them separate. Purpose built.

ICON A5
That's the one i want.
Put it on a trailer take it south for the winter.
I know a couple of bad decisions by pilots but it still looks good. To bad its at least twice the price i could afford, even with a friend.

I think you can also reconfigure values for stuff like the meter on top, since it shows the number and some kind of meter maybe as like a way to quickly glance and see if there’s too much of whatever the value.

Then there’s also some timer type things for 0-60 and other measurements.
It is air intake tamp. Also boost, egt, ignition timing, speed, throttle, and a 0-60 timer. I'm still in debate about wiring the optional boost sensor to read over 5.2 psi, or if I should just get a 2 bar map sensor and tune for it.

Ahhh, thanks for the confirmation.

I don't need to worry about boost since I'm NA but all of those other metrics are super useful to have, and the interface works well for me so far.

I like that it's extendable though, it's cool that they build it so you can add sensors depending on your build and how you want to use it.

@ScoobsMcGee how'd you secure the ribbon cable?

I went out earlier and it turns out I didn't do a good enough job and it's drooping into the footwell.

I had originally ziptied it but fairly loosely to the factory bundle of cables under there.

I'm terrible with routing and I know ribbon cables are fragile so I don't know how else to keep it from dangling.

I zip tied it to the metal bar that the bottom of the dash connects to. Not overly tight, but enough so that it hasn't fallen off in just over a year since install.

It's way overpriced though, particularly for a sport plane. But damn its sexy. I'll just have to settle for flying it in MSFS.

One like this landed in the lake at our cottage on Saturday. Had to look it up.

There is one of these sitting on the small private airfield by my work. Just showed up about a month ago. Can't be more than a couplel left in the world so have no idea why it is there.

I got to ride in one of these once. Taking off and landing in the water is nuts!

C-JGIB is a Searey not an A5. Whole different class of airplane, although they look similar.

She does not look too happy to be photographed.

Also, that seems like a nice place for a cottage.
