It's funny because I have always liked the look of the RPF1, but just not on the twins for some odd reason.

Thanks my fellow Canadian It's been barely 2 months of ownership but I cannot stop smiling everytime I drive. Also been very disciplined during the break-in period (800km left to go!).

Would you eventually run 225/45 17, 235/45 17 or any other preference?

From listed two sizings, on x8, i'd vote for 225/45 - more common sizing thus a bit cheaper and wider tire selection, closer to stock diameter, slight stretch will sharpen steering by reducing sidewall flex.

If it were a more common size, I think a 235/40 would be great. I may stick with 215 for now as I'm going to be N/A for a while but we'll see.

Just crawled under the car, and still no signs of tire rub. Will edit with some phone pictures. The tire has less clearance to the strut than the wheels, and I think it sits more proud of the rim than they did on the stock wheels. This is with -1.9 deg camber.

Did you do the top OEM crash bolt as well? I guess with only an aftermarket camber bolt in the bottom hole it would mainly push the bottom of the wheel out. But replacing the upper crash bolt with the smaller bolt from the bottom hole would pull the top of the wheel closer to the strut.

Yes. The lower bolts went into the top holes.

Rays Gram Lights 57DR 17x9 +38 TRD 86

Hey Guys! Just got some rays 57dr for my 86 TRD in size 17x9 +38. They fit easily in back and fit in front with about a millimetre (if that) of clearence. I might get a 2/3 mil spacer just for safety but its fine for now. Im thinking about removing the stripe, not sure though. Also wondering if i should add the gram lights stickers to the wheels (red). Tell me what you guys think!

Can you please figure out if spacers are needed or not?

hey are these actually 17x8 or 17x7.5? cuz tire rack’s got ultraleggeras 17x7.5 et35, and it got me confused cuz i haven’t seen anyone talk or post about 17x7.5 ultraleggeras. does anyone know if they might’ve made an error on their website, or if they really do exist, do they also clear the pp brembos?

I have the exact same model and planning the exact same wheel setup lol.
I am debating 17 vs 18, but leaning toward 17 at the moment.

someone posted earlier stating it clears the brembo in front but now you said it is quite close, so I am a bit worried as I do not want to run any spacer.

I would say NO gram light sticker, my plan is to get the 57DR red sticker instead. For the TRD stripe, i was debating as well, I still have it on at the moment.
Is your car lowered already in the photo?
