Correcting Mileage when switching to 2017 cluster from 2013 car

As stated above, im asking how i would program the mileage? Is it true that the only way is to program the eeprom chip? If so, could i perhaps just desolder old chip and resolder it on the new cluster? Also, new cluster is used previously, got everything else sorted so far. I have seen people state it could be done through obd2. And as i said above, its to CORRECT mileage, not to do malicious rollbacks.

Can’t be done through OBD. Several companies offer this service through mail-in of the cluster, on eBay mostly.

*Technically* in some states/countries changing the mileage on a cluster is illegal no matter what, so YMMV. What you’re supposed to do when your cluster breaks in most of the US for example, is to get a sticker from the DMV that shows the discrepancy between indicated and actual mileage.
