Think Alonso would have been on the podium if he didn't get taken out by the idiots at the start

VER took #Kimi7 out and then he went to #Seb5 #SingaporeGP

I guess I must have watching a different race. I saw Vettel cross to the left to cut off Verstappen while Kimi was trying to keep ahead of VER on the left. Kimi clipped Verstappen and spun into Vettel who had drifted most of the way across the track. Ferrari was completely at fault, IMHO, and deserved the result they got.

My girlfriend was asleep next to me when the race came on and i literally screamed at the top of my lungs by accident when the crash happened. She was not happy.

Honda will finally get their shit together, and RBR will be back on top for 2019.

Because Alonso.

I think what McLaren figured is that, by 2019/2020, there will be engine parity. So, rather than wait for Honda to catch up, they switched to Renault who is much further along to way to parity. Ride out the next 3 years with respectable performances, and then find a works deal, when the new engine regulations kick in by 2021

How the fuck was that Kimi's fault? At the start Verstappen moved right and left a huge gap on the inside. Kimi got a great start and was acutally *ahead* and going completely straight when Verstappen sweverd into him.

The stewards declared it a racing incident, and Martin Brundle felt that if it was anyone's fault it was Vettel's, which makes the most sense as it was a clumsy move trying to make up for a poor start.

I think if Ricciardo was in Verstappen's place, he would have 1)been aware of Kimi coming up the inside, then 2) done a switchback and gone around the outside of Vettel.

I'll give you the Kimi/Verstappen thing - I never actually said it was Kimi's fault, just that he clipped VER. I initially stated (several posts ago) that I thought Verstappen's aggressiveness was part of the foul up. Not like it would be the first time. It would be easy to see how he might have drifted left to keep away from Vettel and ran out of room about the time he found Kimi.

I think you are spot on regarding Ricciardo - and I can only imagine the race dynamic if Alonso hadn't gotten tangled up in the mess, too.

I saw it as an instinctive reaction by verstappen to avoid vettel's reckless swipe to the left. I realllyyy wanted vettel to win this but I really do not see what verstappen could have done differently. He was trapped, nowhere to go.

If you watch it frame by frame you can see Max start to swerve to avoid Vettel's move, Max then sees how close he is to Kimi and lifts off. At that instant Kimi and Max touch.

I don't think Max realized how good of a start Kimi had and was caught off guard.

Don't think anything would have happened had Vettel not swerved all the way over.
But Vettel did do exactly what he should have done.
Force Max over to a tight inside line at the first corner to make him lose speed and take the lead from Max.

They're all kinda at fault.
Vettel for swerving all the way over.
Max for not realizing he was so close to Kimi.
And Kimi for not Moving over.

Kimi had nearly half a car width between him and the white line.

Have to agree with the stewards, Racing Indecent.
