Wheel locks? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Hey all,

What's the best wheel locks available to purchase? Are the ones that the dealers usually offer as an option ok to use? They all seem like they're identical, and basically everyone would have that socket.

Please advise.

Are you the same person that asked this identical question in one of the wheel threads? The ones from the dealer are perfectly fine.

think about this: where are you going to keep your wheel lock key? most likely somewhere in the car. if you get a flat on the highway, you need to be able to change your own wheel, so you need the key. sure, you could carry it in your pocket/backpack/purse (for the ladies), but how practical is that?

basically if someone really wants your wheels, they're going to take them. personally i think wheel locks are a waste of time and money. $0.02.

I take it you didn't check the post I just made above..you keep the key on your keychain seems like a no brainier

The site looks pretty promising, as so do their products.

Average prices on wheel locks in Ontario is $35 I think?

So I'd assume these to be around 50. I mean, judging on what they say, it's worth the investment.

i clicked on the link but didn't dig too much farther into than that. the keyring solution is a good one. i won't get wheel locks either way, but for those who want them, that looks like a good option.

Yeah I can see some places over others I don't think Indiana has wheel theft places like cali. and florida I could see it way more.

If you're in a high risk area for car/wheel theft then they are definitely worth it. I think that goes double if you're going to invest in a pricey pair of new shoes for your car.
