And I'm actually in Napa sometimes since my in-laws live there. Will be in St. Helena tomorrow, actually (though I'm not sure if we'll be in my car or the Focus - he's not allowed to drive my car anymore

).

couple of pic of mine before i change things up on it again. Staggered hyper blac Rota RKR 18x8.5/9.5 +44 and ST coilovers, Valenti tails, basic stuff really. Wheels are available with or without tires if anybody is interested. They are very well suited for Hot Lava.

I'm definitely not looking to do a lot to the exterior of my car personally because I too think they did a fantastic job as it is. Possibly new wheels at some point. Maybe slap on a shark fin instead of my antenna. I've considered new tail lights but honestly, I like the stock ones. And with a Hot Lava FR-S, the ambers on the side look good. I just don't see myself messing too much with something I think is close to perfection.

There's actually a story behind why mine's Hot Lava, though. It's kind of sappy.

My dad passed away December 12, 2013. My mom passed away less than a year later on November 9, 2014. I had flown back to Memphis to see her and to bring her car back to California with me: an 2012 Inferno Orange Metallic Chevy Sonic LT. It was nothing special - cute. In great shape. Paid off (with the money she got when my father passed). We finally would have a second car which was great!

I never settled into it. I never felt really comfortable. It was always my mom's car to me (even though she'd only had it a couple of years) and I couldn't get past that. She'd been so excited to get it - it was a huge upgrade over her previous car, and she was in love with the color. Orange, you see, was her favorite.

So, my husband suggested trading it in on something for myself: specifically, an FR-S or BRZ since he knew I was in love with them. We went to look and there on the lot was a 2014 Hot Lava Monogram that someone had owned for all of 9 months and returned. I knew then it had to be an FR-S (since the BRZ didn't offer the orange) because that way, a little part of my mom could carry over into my car. I also knew that she'd have wanted me to have a car I loved, and would have been happy to have helped contribute to that.

I've had my FR-S for almost a year now and I'm still very much in love with it as much as the day I test drove it. And even taking the sappy connection to my mom out of the story, Hot Lava goes well with my red hair

Love your car, just got some new wheels on mine and paid for the Intec LED fender garnishes. I'm thinking about having mine painted to match since my wheels are silver. Will post some new pics soon.

Thanks a lot man. I really do my best to keep her clean. She's unfortunately going to stay stock for a while although I may slap on the Corsa exhaust. My 1970 Mustang is taking up all of my time and mod money lol.
