Everybody has seen that video where have you been? There is another video of a guy spirited driving in the canyons with minimal pressure drop that isn’t in the dangerous level. You track it then it’s roulette.

I've heard they track just fine and then I see this. Like I've said before, I'll wait until the dust settles. |

My '04 STi had brakes that look the same as these and they fit under its stock 17" wheels. But will these brakes only fit 18s? I'd be pretty interested in getting the calipers aftermarket. I also wonder if they use a different master cylinder or or if there's anything else that would need to be swapped that I'm overlooking.
I miss the feel and look of my STi's brakes. |

I'd like to do a brace and maybe SS lines and thought about it more than once, but both would knock me out of DS class in autocross. STR in our region is pretty competitive with some pretty highly modified cars. At this point I don't think I'm ready to modify my car enough to be competitve in that class. |

I wouldn't bother with SS lines. I've never been able to tell the difference on any car I've done them on or my old sport bike.

If you like non-stop shifting. You can overgear a vehicle.
Just for fun we tested this on my R6 at the drag strip. It was faster with just a +2 sprocket in the rear vs the typical -1/+2 that is often done (well back when I still rode) on nearly everything since they are geared so long from the factory.

The brz of geared like I stated would be great for tighter tracks, mountains but obviously hwy would suffer.

1) On bigger tracks like the Riverside NASCAR roval top speed suffered in the long straight and high banked turn. I maxxed out at ~ 117MPH 2) Even on a tight track like Streets of Willow, the two straights cost me a extra 4-5 shift immediately before the braking zone or I would hit the limiter. Once out of the pits the rest of the track was all 3rd or 4th. Not contradicting you at all - the "constant shifting" is a bit overblown; however there are side effects even on the tighter tracks. As far as the highway goes, 3500RPM @ 70mph was no big deal to me. Your suggestion of 4.88 would be less than a 10% difference to what I run. [EDIT] That said, I have no immediate plans to change gearing on the Gen2 I have on order; I want to see what it is like on my favorite tracks first. If I can preserve the top speed and avoid an extra shift AND I am satisfied with the acceleration, then good enough...

Interesting the BRZ Ts eliminates the aluminum knuckles and replaces them with the steel units used on the GR86. The GR86 was tuned to be the more track focused car so it seems like the Ts is a GR86 with better brakes.
