the 'rarely' part is going to make this the hardest thing to troubleshoot.

i would start with unplugging the passenger door harness inside the kick panel. that would eliminate any modules, switches, and wiring that's in the door that could cause issues.

then run it that way for a while and see if the issue keeps happening.

Can we talk about the fact that this is a green pre-FL 86? It looks awesome!

I would say you have an aftermarket component in there somewhere (and I'm not talking about the PF mirror module, which is pretty cool btw but expensive for what it is). Maybe the remnants of an old alarm system?

I've had the car beep on me but those seven beeps surprise me. It's not a very OEM-like number.

That's a good thought. I'll try that sometime this week to see if there's a difference and will post an update.

Thank you very much it was painted green by the dealership when the car was imported in 2017. Was a nice surprise to see Toyota come out with a very similar color a couple years later.

It may very well be the remnants of an aftermarket alarm which might have been installed in Japan. I'll ask a technician have a look next time I have a chance. The auto window folding module is a universal one off of AliExpress, ran me about $15. It's a small thing but it certainly very nice to have. This link isn't exactly the one I bought as that was a few years ago but it looks about the same.

Almost exactly a year later, and my car finally beeps twice.

I noticed when touching the door handle the right side door lock actuator would unlock in one go, but I could hear the left side actuate multiple times despite unlocking the first time. Turns out it actually was the passenger door lock actuator. Part number SU003-04107. Replaced it and the beeping went away instantly.

If anyone else faces this issue, the door lock actuators are most likely the culprit, even if they function fine.
