Anyone knows if there is a 'reboot' function on our headunits? I have a DDX918WS and once in a blue moon the Android Auto function freezes and I have to turn the car off and on to reboot the head unit. Obviously a bummer when this happens in the middle of a highway, we can't just stop anywhere...

My Android Auto is on the latest version, with the latest firmware on the Kenwood head unit.

Thanks, but that merely turns off the screen and does not actually reboot the entire head unit... I'm looking to see if it's possible to power cycle - and subsequently show the Kenwood splash screen.

Anyone know the what the 3.5mm jack is from the custom harness from carbon car system is for?

Also there was a green plug that doesn't get plugged into the harness and no spare connector for it, what's it for?

3.5mm male jack or female plug? Just curious.

This is just a guess, but the 3.5mm could be for the steering wheel controls on some models or it's for the microphone.

Some connectors aren't used.

Old thread I know but,
How did you figure out the backup camera solution without Carbon's harness?

Also, I'm in Canada, where could I get the current headunit? Seems like the ones that fit aren't North American...

I looked at the wire harness and it seems it's pink/green at the ECU but I am not comfortable tapping it there.

Figured it & reverse out.

Houston we have backup camera!

I guess Carbon did me a favor blowing me off, I did 'er myself & saved $.

There's definitely some wiring difference between the Australian and North American cars that carbon isn't aware of.

Both myself and many other people on this forum (Canada/USA) reported backup cam issues when using the carbon harness. Mine just didn't work at all. I'm not very wiring savvy so I took mine to a local shop, and they had to add the 6v/12v converter before it would work.

My issue was the reverse wire was loose. I have since replaced the OEM camera with a Kenwood that was P&P with the HU.
