hey guys so i got my OFT today and installed the stage 1 93 tune. So far I like it, torque is definitely better and I can hear my intake sucking in a lot more air. is that normal? any other changes or differences I should be looking out for? I have no idea about the data logging or anything. anyway I can just look at my oft and tell if everything is running fine?

The change in valve timing and throttle plate opening will change the intake sound. Normal imo.

I was on 93 stg 1 for a little while and the change in sound was unexpected. normal.

I have an intake and I'm stg 2 and it's even louder.

So I just got my OFT and am having issues with my screen. It is completely unresponsive. I plug in the OFT and the main menu appears but it will not let me go into any of the options. I have also installed Open Flash Manager and hooked it up and it seemed to have updated and experienced no issues. Does anyone have any suggestions on a fix? I suspect the touchscreen may be defective.

can the OFT measure horsepower and torque in real time kind of like the torque app does?

no it does not contain accelerometer's like Android phones or tablets.

however you can log data and then feed that into software called Virtual Dyno

Torque power measurements aren't accurate, I wouldn't even bother looking at them.

I use dashcommand for that torque and hp reading. No is isn't very accurate but you can adjust it to be as accurate as possible. Rent a dyno for an hour and keep adjusting the program till it reads similar to the dyno. I haven't done that yet but I heard that's an option.

oh ok so the only true way to know how much HP and torque your car puts out is with a dyno? Not really knowledgeable at logging data from the OFT so i wouldn't know what I was doing on the virtualdyno.net

Virtual Dyno works good as a good comparison tool if using the same stretch of road, a real dyno is really only the same but better.

Engine Blew

Hi guys,
Today I had a loud knocking from my engine. Toyota said it was an engine rod even though they hadn't taken apart my engine and do a full diagnostic. They also found out that my oil was low (by 3.5 qts or about 3.3L).No CEL, no low oil warning, nothing. I was 1,500 miles over due in going in for an oil change. Car mileage is slightly under 15,000 miles right now and I'm also running OFT stg 2 91 UEL tune. I highly doubt that it was the tune's fault, but what are the chances? I don't understand much about engine tuning and all, i got OFT just to get rid of CEL caused by my catless UEL. What are the chances that OFT Stg 2 91 UEL tune caused my car so burn oil much faster?

I often do spirited driving, and have never pushed the car hard like on a track nor did I rev it like crazy.

If anyone has experienced this before/has knowledge in this field, please help me out. Thank you in advance!

You ran the car low on oil and suffered the consequences. Lesson learned to maintain your car better in the future.

Nobody will be able to tell you anything different unless they can see the engine for themselves or you get detailed pictures. The car only holds ~5.5 quarts of oil, by running 3.5 quarts low you only had 2 quarts of oil in the engine, you had less than 50% oil. It's your responsibility to regularly check the oil level and change the fluids on time, nobody else.

There may be something else going on, but that is just theory, based on what you posted you are out of luck. The exact same thing would have happened if you had bought a Camry, kept it stock, and then treated it the same way.

PS: Please excuse my messy paragraph structure, english isn't my first language.

You could've lost oil due to the rod going on u. Happened to my old spec v. Check your oil levels weekly from now on. It takes 10 seconds to do. As for the tune. I'm running the same tune as you but with an ofh specific tune. I doubt it's the tune because many would have had the same story. Keep us updated

Is it covered under warranty? If they say no, bitch and argue about it.

this is also my first car, i didnt know which specific parts to check on a monthly basis, or even weekly basis. Like you said, lesson learned!
