Here's those pics i was suppose to post the other day
I have to say, i am impressed with this metal, white bronze. its soo hard, i have had it on my key chain for a few days, and where my silver one got that beat up look, this is pretty much the same, only some very fine scratches. I wasnt sure if this metal could be plated or not so i tested out the platinum family's Rhodium eletroplating, Success! nice and white now, i will try a yellow gold plating when i get my first batch back pretty exciting! . ps. sacrilegious mazda key :P

That looks excellent, like how it still appears to be silver, but now has the ruggedness of being bronze. Can't wait to get one for myself.

Thanks really happy with how its turned out i would have much prefered to have taiwan make them for me, for ease and costs. but there is a certain benefit to being australian made my poor fingers though...
I will go into australian post and see if i can send them in envelopes, $3 postage rather than $7 parcel costs, plus the parcels are a 20 day journey by sea where as the envelopes are 3-10 by air (to US)

Not being a jeweller or metalurgist can you give me an idea how long the rhodium electroplating would last. Is this the same as 'silver plating' or is it stronger and less likely to wear away. I am pretty easy on my gear but if the electro plating is not a long term effect I think I would still stump up for a silver version. |

i am currently using it as my keyring, and also am interested to see how long it lasts. a ring's plating will last 6-12 months depending on wear, you can tell very easily on an engagement ring when it is worn down because the bottom of the ring takes the most abuse so you can see the colour difference, a plain wedder (or keyring) takes general abuse everywhere so it blends in and is difficult to notice.
So far i have been supprised at how strong this metal is and how well the plating is lasting. but its only been 3 or 4 days now so time will tell. I will be crystal clear on my findings so that you can make a choice that suits you
