Remote unlock not working. Key needs new battery? How?

Not keyless start.
I turn the key to start car.
But door and trunk unlock not working every time.

New battery
Video below

Got it done.
Did both keys.
5 for $4.40

Do I need new key?
Or can I change the battery?
No obvious battery slot
I'd suggest you put a new battery in it.

My 2013 key has a small slot near the top of the FOB, on the seam, that will open up the two halves by putting a flat tipped screwdriver in it and twisting.

The car is totalled. You are done.

Or, maybe you could read the manual?

The photo shared is of an uncut key, which I doubt is the actual key used by the OP. The texture of the plastic is similar to third-party replica key blanks I've had experience with. The replicas typically will accept an original transponder/remote module, but can vary quite a bit in the actual execution such that the two halves aren't interchangeable with genuine parts, and sometimes even a genuine remote doesn't fit well enough to work correctly.

It wouldn't surprise me if this key (or the one the OP is actually using) is missing the recess for a screwdriver to wedge apart the halves. If that's the key, the halves still need to be pried apart, and a knife would be a better tool to start attacking the seam than a screwdriver.

Yogi Berra, Buddha, or someone said (and I paraphrase): When you read the instructions, you get an education. You get experience when you don't.

That reminded me of a quote I just heard the other day.

"Experience is a bitch. The test usually comes before the lesson."

My key does have the slot pictured in the helpful video.

Why does your profile say you drive an FRS?
Why have you not split the casing in half yet and replaced the battery?
Why are we still here
