Did you have any concerns about quality of gas in your region before you purchased the oft? This is pretty much whats holding me back from buying an oft.

Hey sorry. Never knew you asked a question haha.
Main reasons;
1. I don't like the UEL sound
2. I don't like the amount of noise it creates
3. I want a catted Header

The header that I will get in the future is the Fujitsubo Catted Header. It's EL and doesn't increase the noise levels. (well it does, but barely. It's the quietest header on the market apart from stock)

Not really. I just use Shell V-Power 91 and never had any issues. Also with Shell 91 you don't get crickets. If you have that issue.

Without doing a custom tune, the Open Flash Header Ver.3 would give you the most gains since when they make the tunes for Stage 2, they use there own headers.

However, if you go with a Custom tune, ($200.00 extra option) you can achieve similar gains with most headers. Word on the street is Ace headers create the most gains.

I actually plan to get the Custom Tune when I put the catted header on in the long away future

Hey guys really considering buying a OFT for my 2013 scion FRS.

The only mods I have right now are invidia Q300, invidia catless front pipe, afe dry drop in filter, and a mishimoto silicone intake hose. It is an automatic transmission by the way.

If I buy this and just do the pre-programmed stage 1 tune would I feel a noticeable difference in the drive? Don't really want to mess with any of the custom tune settings because I really know nothing about tuning at all. Just want to be able to plug it in, update the tune, and enjoy it.

I have a Manual Trans and only the TRD exhaust and the OFT makes a noticeable difference in the drive quality. Much more linear power delivery.

Do you know if you get better MPG? also it shouldn't do anything to affect the car in a bad way in the long run right?

It does run leaner so I wouldn't be surprised if it makes a miniscule improvement.

Does doing the tune make the tone of your exhaust sound different?

I haven't done calculations, but no noticeable difference either way.

I can't wait to install my UEL headers. I got them from FedEx last night along with my OFT which I used as soon as I updated it and added the tunes. Subrina has changed and will change more one the headers are on.

Have you experienced that throttle delay that everyone seems to be talking about after the Stage 1 tune? I flashed my 2018MT BRZ to Stage 1 and am experiencing that throttle delay. Did this about 2 days ago.

If you're referring to the 'dead pedal' feeling (where the first inch or 2 of gas pedal throw does nothing), it lasts quite a while. It took me several days / ~100 miles to completely go away.

People just need to search

After flashing/reset of the ECU:
- Turn on ignition (press start button twice).
- Pump throttle pedal 5-10 times in quick succession, making sure to go all the way down and all the way up.
- Start the engine and allow to idle for ~1 min

That has always worked for me. They don't even have to be done at the same time. Pressing the pedal lets the ECU learn max/min of the pedal and TPS, which is what causes the dead pedal. Idling allows it to learn the idle position. If the engine is warm the last step may take less time, if the AVCS actvates then you're food to go.
