Unremoveable nut!
Hey guys,
I am trying to install my radium catch can kit but one screw on the driver side by the strut bar seems unremoveable. I attempt to unscrew but it just spins in place. I took a picture of the under side there seems to be something strange there. None of my tools could seem to grab a hold of that under side.(space is tight) any suggestions? top side pictures under side picture |

The bottom is supposed to be tack welded... not sure how that would've come undone..
But you'll need to grab ahold of it and then use something like vise grips on the top to get it off, then replace it all with new nut/bolt that fits since the tack welds came off.. Then get yourself a set of non 12 point wrenches for normal use. Are you sure the bottom square nut is spinning?? It doesn't look like it's at all been spinning from the bottom pic you sent, but the bolt looks stripped... |

I believe the thread on the screw has failed. I took a video under the bolt while I turned it. Just the bolt is moving but its not unscrewing. suggestions?

It looks like the nut is still tack welded in place. 90 deg die grinder and cutoff wheel, grind the head off so you can see what is going on. Once you do that try to drill it out the bit may catch and take the bolt out from the back side.

Have someone push up on the bolt from the bottom while you try to unscrew it. If that does not work, whip out a Dremel and cut the bottom off the bolt level with the nut.

Clamp a vice grip on it, so you can pull up, while turning it

The bolt spins, and the weld nut is not spinning?
Yet, the bolt does not unscrew itself? |

Either the bracket broke its welds or the bolt stripped the threads so it cant progress out. If you don’t want to drill n tap or cut it off then vice grips on the bracket if that is broken from the welds or use a hammer or crowbar action to press the bolt out as you rotate it.
