Why was it a problem the Pinto hung the fuel tank exposed behind the rear axle, but not a problem that the Mustangs from 74-04 did too?

From what I understand it wasn't an issue that it was behind the rear axle, but the orientation of the bolts holding it in place.

Probably because Mr. T isn't in the movie.

A buddy of mine in high school had a Pinto. It was ugly, but was actually a good little car. Had a little 4 banger with a 4MT. We drove that thing everywhere, until coming back from skiing one time it fried a piston. I think it had somewhere in the range of 150k miles on it.

Technically, it was the straps.

I made the same mistake. They do look alike, but that is a young Val Kilmer.

I remember them, but we never had one to my knowledge. My Grandparents had one in their living room but it didn't work due to a blown tube they didn't want to spend the money on replacing.

My earliest memory involves a B&W television (JFKs assassination and the aftermath).

Nope. Before my time. I remember we had a small (probably 20") portable RCA color tv on a stand with wheels. I remember playing with my GI Joe with his astronaut suit watching the moon landing with my dad. I was 6.

It was all my grandparents in Quebec had until well into the '70s. There was no point in them having a TV as they only got one station and it was of course French. They didn't speak French. They finally got TV when cable came to their small town in '74 or '75.

Theirs looked just like this.

Yep, ours looked something like this.

It also had a short wave tuner.

We had a couple of these in the house. Maybe a generation newer? Still fascinated me, crackling as they warmed.
