Thanks for making well-written and illustrated DIY guides. You've made working on our cars a lot easier for those of us who aren't quite as savvy with a wrench. I just got done with a stack of stuff, and I know I'd still be out there scratching my head if you hadn't gone first and documented everything.

Do you still recommend the clear bra on the rear fenders? I was talked out of it because I have mud guards.

Replaced all of Lola's coils and plugs with the help of my mates this weekend. My car threw a coil pack code tracking the car twice in the hot August month. While I was in there I replaced the plugs as well. Vortech recommend plug changes at 30k so why the heck not.
Wanted to make this post as #Science for Vortech owners Lola's History Pre-Coil/Plug Service Delivered June 2012 Vortech Supercharged 9psi 2.5bar kit Perrin Vortech Tune 32k miles. 22k miles boosted. 1k+ miles on the track/road courses. OEM Spark Plugs Rev 0 Coil Packs Amsoil Signature 0W-20 since 1700 miles Radium Catch Can at 5500 miles Second Radium Catch Can at 15000 miles Homebrew oil cooler at 16000 miles Engine oil and Vortech oil changed every 3-4k miles or after two track events whatever comes first. I change these items together Spark plugs came out well and were consistent. No signs of lean conditions. I thought the plugs would come out darker due to the safe tune I have, but this wasn't the case. A shop commented that there is some oil burn but it doesn't look major. Overall I'm glad mine came out this way. I've seen plugs come out much worse on another mate's Vortech Car. My mates were impressed they were iridium plugs with three prongs. I read the OEM spark plugs are NGK 9 equivalent Coils were heat wrapped to see if it will help them last longer. I've seen first hand coils starting to go on #NA cars, so I'm not surprised to see this on Lola. From working with the dealer, we are now on Rev 2 on the coils. Looks identical to me. Must be reworked internals to handle heat or deliver spark more reliably. What was the total cost to do this service? Also on 1-10 how difficult? I don't look forward to doing this service.

Please tell me you took lots of pictures of the coil and plug swap that you intend to post in another one of your great DIY's !!! The coil issue is becoming very prevelant especially in tracked cars as the miles accumulate.

Each plug is $25 So it costs $576. With some coupons I was able to do it for much cheaper. Overall its not that bad. I'd say a 4 looking back. The right tools are important. Quote:
The next car I do I may write a DIY.

@F1point4, how are you liking the Cusco Leather Steering Wheel? I am torn between that one and the Prova wheel. Great job on the car, looks great!

Wish they weren't so expensive. But worth it given you touch that item everytime you drive
