Well all I can say is I see a noticwable different before and after the 1st oil change. Wish I recorded it...

The old one didn't so safe to assume the same applies. You will get a letter if it did.

After that, even though fully charged on a battery charger, it never quite acted right again. With winter coming up decided to change it out before getting stranded.

Never had a problem with mine either (original battery since Aug '13 25k mi). What maintenance is required? I have a '08 tC (Nov '07 45k mi) and that's also original OEM. Both cars have GPS and tC has an alarm -no battery issue and the closest thing to maintenance is not leaving the lights on.

Only maintenance is to check the water once in a while. Most batteries don't have bad evaporation but some do. Otherwise, if it doesn't hold a charge you don't have a choice but to replace it

For all those that seem to think people won't buy the 17 because of the bumper. http://www.forbes.com/pictures/ehmk4.../#129ab97737a3

My coworker picked up a red 86 today. Personally, I think it looks better than my '15 in about every way except for the fog light cutouts. Wheels, tail lights, front bumper, headlights, fender garnishes, and seats all look better on the '17, IMO. Made my car look super old in comparison.

I agree the new wheel style looks nicer, but that and the rest of it all comes down to your personal taste. There is more I like about the FR-S style than the facelifted 86, and I gave the car the benefit of the doubt until I saw it in person on the dealer's lot. Couldn't do the new face, didn't like the interior changes, didn't like the fender garnish change and the 86 roundel on the fenders a-la-Nissan Z, and the car didn't drive differently enough to be significant to me. If they'd left the front clip alone and just brought it over as a Toyota, I would have probably gone for an 86.
