What’s up with you all it’s going to be 33kish. lol. The GR Yaris is about 40k with the circuit pack, if the rumors are true about the GR Corolla getting the GRMN 3 cylinder making 300hp I definitely see the Corolla being a STi and Type R competitor.

It’s wishful thinking but if it happens I wouldn’t be mad either.

I don't care if it competes with the GTI, Veloster N, STI, or Type R. I just want it to be here lol.

The GR Yaris also had a CF roof and some other track/race oriented bits. Pretty sure those won't see their way onto the GR Corolla, so should be able keep the cost a little more reasonable.

And as much as I want it to have 300hp, that one Toyota troll pic showed "2 68," so 268 will probably be the hp rating.

Nah it will totally cost $26,800.

Or $268,000 (they're predicting the markup over MSRP).

I'd hope for $2.68 but that's probably the cost of the hotwheel or tomica for it.

Eh. They sell the Corolla for <$20k, sticking in the Yaris power train shouldn't be a >$15k markup. No fun things the Yaris has like the lowered carbon fiber roof line and no rear doors and it'll weigh 500# more then the Yaris because of that. Regular Corolla is ~2900# add in a bunch of cooling turbos and two more differentials and three more driveshafts on the regular MT xse Corolla.

It's already the most powerful production 3 cylinder, 300hp out of a 1.6L is McLaren and Ferrari territory, hand built Porsche and Nissan GT-R engines. They only get more out of the racecar engine because it only has to last like 100-200 hours. No way.

I think it will be above GR86 barely and below the 2.0 Supra is where it will slot at MSRP(mark-ups, etc... all bets are off)

I just want to see how Toyota markets this car. I’ve said it before, the “Sporty” Corolla has had some interesting variants over the years from AE 86/92/101/111 Trueno/levins and even a 1998 WRC Corolla that borrowed machinery from the Celica GT4 similar to the new GRC getting stuff from the Yaris.

Wasn't the rear suspension on the GR Yaris different from the standard Yaris? Assuming it'll be the same for the GR Corolla.

I'd think a $10k-15k price increase over a standard Corolla would make sense to cover the R&D costs associated with making the GR-Four drivetrain. How much more did the EVO cost over the standard Lancer? And they were using an engine they've already had for years.

I honestly hope the GR-Four Corolla will be as hardcore as the Yaris.

The GR Yaris platform uses the Corolla rear end I believe. For the most part they were probably testing this car in rookie racing

If that's the case (I'm really too lazy right now to find out which halves of cars they used to make the GR Yaris, lol), then they should be able to keep the cost down even more.

I can do without the CF roof.

I think since the US is not a car market, but rather a truck and SUV market, I don't think Toyota will make the GR Corolla as track/race oriented as the GR Yaris. They're going to try to target as many people as possible, and having the CF roof will push up the price, and will turn off many of the potential buyers here. From a corporate perspective, they will profit the most by basing the GR Corolla on a fully loaded XSE trim, so actually the opposite of a hardcore model.

The cost of the base and the cost of a special GR will be a meaningless comparison unless all they are doing is slapping an engine in it. If that is the case it will be crap anyway.
