Meaty Tire Thread
@FR-Shred - look at all my posts from previously.... It's all based off the same specs you're looking at except the stock strut question. And honestly you should do the drop first because the car looks really odd on big wheels

But you said you're going to get coilovers before the wheels?
I can tell you its a dramatic difference: Last edited by showoff3civic; 12-02-2015 at 04:41 PM. |

Sorry to thread jack as i only have 245's but they are stretched. Hopefully this hasnt already been asked before but I am sure it has, I just don't have the time to spend searching through the forums this week. As of right now I am running Ambit 18x9.5 +38 all the way around with 245/40/18 all around. I am lowered on Eibach SS springs. Love the way the car looks in the rear but I am going to need to add additional camber up front to make the wheels flush and minimize any rubbing. Do I have the clearance to add any additional camber up from or am i already to close to the stock suspension? Would love yalls opinion. I already purchased some whiteline camber bolts for the front for some additional camber, need an alignment ASAP.

@zkahle others have mentioned that anywhere close to 1.3-1.5 camber(or more than 1 degree) will rub with those wheel specs. 245/40's are too tall. If you aren't sure, stick your phone under the car and take a video and you can see for yourself that you are already pretty close.

The smallest bolt on spacer is 15mm. You would have to do extended studs if you wanted more than 5mm. Top hats do nothing except give you more camber adjustment than crash/camber bolts alone would. Over budget? You are in the wrong game. Slow your roll. Like I said earlier, record a video with your phone under the car with a flashlight and see how close you are. The wheel cambers under compression. You have 3 options. 1. Leave as is and get stock spec alignment. Or try your luck with camber bolts/spacers. 2. Spend money and buy full suspension. You wanna play with the big boys with big boy 9.5 width wheels? You gotta spend like a big boy. 3. Get smaller wheels. I am done responding here. You have your options laid out for you. I would try spacers and camber bolts and go from there as it is the cheapest option. Good luck. |

You could try the reverse of camber bolts, like add positive camber through the two bolts( this should give you more clearance) and fix your camber with an adjustable top mount. Again, this is only a theory, it might not work. You should just get tein flex z's, great option for low budget coils.

Well thanks for the info @swarb even if it was brutally honest. Unfortunately as a undergrad student who works part time I don't have the money for all the "big boy" toys. Just trying to do the best with what I have. Thanks again.
