If you don't have snow tires buy some. Even used ones are better than summer or even all season tires. I have some winter blizzaks on my car and they make a world of difference. I even go to the mountain with my BRZ to snowboard. I'm guessing automatic trans guys probably have an easier time in the snow. Going uphill from a stop in snow isn't easy for non-AWD cars until you get moving, basically impossible in summer tires. ![]()

I'd love to get a tally of how wrecked 86's they'll be after winter. I'm betting 90% of the wrecks will be from the morons running the primacys.
I've been on my winters since early November for fear of freak snow storms. Drive safe everyone and GET winter tires!

Lets get real guys. You say your summer tires/stock tires are awesome in the snow. But in reality they are not. Other wise what would be the point of winters? Go get some winter tires before you
1. rear end someone 2. slide of the road n die 3. slide back words down a hill into someone <- some dumb ass in a mustang almost did this to me today. Be safe!

I've been driving mine with the summer stockers all week since its been dry and have had no problems in sub 32 temps. Key thing is not to drive like an idiot.
When its starts snowing and roads are wet below 32, I got another car for that. |

Its only Snowy/Icey conditions around Portland for like a month total/year, not worth changing the tires for. I just avoid driving most of that month :P

yeah thats what I'm going to do...today wasn't so bad around tannasbourne/hillsboro I got to work safely but I'm nervous to drive too much in the shitty conditions since I have no experience with the cold. So Cal graced me with being cold when it was 50

Its been fun going into an empty parking lot and practicing recovering from too much gas or too much break or even counter steering. I recently got some all season tires for the back and have stock on the front. Only had problems when I stopped on an incline. Fortunately there aren't that many here in Texas.
Go slow and keep nannies on. They will keep you from sliding all over the place. Also keep in a higher gear than normal. That should help not apply so much torque to the ground. Snow is fun when playing in a safe place. |

I was in Albany when the big snow hit, 8"+ I got there no problem from Salem but let's say I just parked it after that.
I need to hit Bend later this week may have to look into this a bit different and rethink a winter setup |

Loving my ZR-rated summer tires in this 10 degree weather! The grip in ice and snow is exceptional! I swear I have AWD.

I ran the stock tires last year in light snow (central Indiana). I don't recommend, very dangerous. If it was an auto trans I would have put it in ditch a dozen times. Push the clutch in straightened things out. On Yokohama 580s now good in light snow. Terrible on dry. Tire store has order me Michelin AS 3 to replace Yokohamas. I read they're one of the best do-it-all tires.
