Asphalt Frs,

Is it me or do the Asphalt frs' not look that good with wheels unless they are like the gunmetal or graphite color? I have an asphalt frs and I have been looking and have yet to see one with wheels that i really like besides the gunmetal and graphite ones.

Asphalt was my choice in color. But I'm starting to lean towards other colors that are a little more adaptable to different wheel colors and styles.

Yeah! I love the asphalt but there isn't much you can do with the exterior like you can go with the other colors. Its just a matter of finding the perfect setup.

When you get it right though, it does look pretty good.

Black wheels look good with tinted windows, black emblems, etc.
I've seen pictures of asphalts with bronze wheels that look great and others that look ugly. I think it's more about the style of the rim than the color.
In the near future I'm probably gonna get some matte bronze (concave) wheels and if they don't look good I'll just plasti dip them black.

I am in a similar situation and it is kinda frustrating because the color is so good and it looks so different in various light conditions ranging from gray - blue - black.

My thumb rule is dark wheels look good on bright colored cars and vice versa (unless black on black) and the DGM/Asphalt color falls neatly (and inconveniently) into this gap where it is not too black yet not too silver.

See the Lexus LFA hyperblack/gun metal wheels. I am trying to find something that might look like that.

Mentally pictured an Asphalt FRS hovering sans wheels

I went with a set of OZ Superturismo GT's in silver, with a 1" drop to complete the look. I'd love to go further but it's my DD, and I rack up on average 35,000 miles a year.

I get more comments about the wheels than the car sometimes.

Mines asphalt. Plastidipped my wheels and emblems, tinted, and smoked my taillights and I think it looks pretty good.

If you check my car journal I have gunmetal on asphalt. I'm pretty satisfied.

I'm torn on this wheel decision as well... Personlly I think that both matte bronze and painted gray w/polished lip look the cleanest for us.. Can't wait to.burn through the stickers and replace..

Was thinking either black or gold. Tempted to go with gold but would like to see it before making a purchase.

I went a little radical on mine and everyone comments on the rims and not the car. Glad it is only plastidip.
