Haven't done anything for the past two months due to family in town and having little motivation to tinker away.

But finally, some motivation did arrive in the mail thanks to the approval of a vanity plate. More on that later . In anticipation for the out of province I've removed the bucket seat, swapped to some OEM brake pads and $17 Rockauto rotors (they're marked with Centric part #s lol), fixed the side marker brackets and properly installed them after 4 years of zipties, and replaced a bunch of leaking o-rings. My fate appears to be a death by 1000 C$3 o-rings.

Still to do is remove the coilovers, the RR is definitely blown and the FL is making not-normal noises as well. After that, I'm going to pull all the sphericals off the car so it appears a bit more OEM.

Shame about the shaftworks being blown already. Are you sending them back to shafworks for a rebuild ?

Ticked off 276,000 km on the odometer.
"New" for now is stock suspension with my STI wheels for the Out of Province Inspection. Which the car failed for... an alignment as "it pulls a bit left", which contradicts my mental note of "car pulls a bit right" while driving there. Such is life, shop got some more $ out of me for an alignment and away we went. Officially plated: POINTBY.

Went to visit the mountains, stopped along the way for the sunset.

RedReplicant and I have been discussing and he thinks it might be a skill issue on my end, which is entirely within the realm of possibility. Going to pull them back apart and see if I can find any issue I may have missed while rushing to try and fix it before a track day.

Thanks for the update. Let us know what you found. I wouldn’t be surprised if they needed a good service/rebuild at the 2 year mark but kinda sucks if they did in fact blow

They were rebuilt and never run before they were shipped to me.

Meant to take them apart and rebuild them but time got away from me, hopefully this week?

Haven't done much with the car other than drive it to work every day. Super fun, even with stock suspension.

In the meantime I did take a rental ND2RF Miata to Tail of the Dragon. The trip was great, the car is awful. The auto (yeah yeah, rental things) felt like it was clutch dumping every upshift in every mode at any throttle/RPM. Power band and gearing were... a choice. Interior room felt more cramped than an NA6 with a roll bar. Trunk space and fuel economy were very good, and it provided for many laughs and smiles thrashing a rental car for 1000 miles in 3 days while getting 30+ MPG.

In the mean time I picked up some black traction control buttons, and another set of 17x9 +35 RPF1 this time in gunmetal. Wheels are in pretty good shape and have brand new Yokohama Advan v701s, though they are an unfortunate 235/45/17.
