Anthony, I don't see the carpet on your weight reduction list, If you missed it it's 8lbs.

Also, the sound deadening.

This thread is like a great movie with a shocking ending. I felt really sorry, didn't want to believe when see the accident pictures. Thank god.. It could have been much worse. What happened to the car afterwards?

@Anthony hasn't logged on since last September. Doesn't bode well for the world's lightest twin.

Maybe he just put it up for the winter. I'm staying tuned. Keep hope alive.

Maybe he went to far with the weight reduction.

This is the reason I'm here (that seatbelt alarm could be the next weight reduction lol).

Thoughts on removing the badges for... vinyl stickers? If it weren't for the badge mounting holes, I'd say paint the badges on. But that's a fascinating topic... PAINT is heavy! Although grinding away the clear coat won't benefit longevity.

i agree, definitely inspiring

the amount of work put into the documentation is awesome
i'm continuing my build (or disassembly) in his footsteps, also see the posts by tom (i forget his username). he also documented some cool weight reduction efforts.

unfortunately my brz is still my daily and only car, but even with the stuff i've added to the car (aos, strut bar), i've netted a loss of 130 pounds of stuff, mostly rear seats, trim, plastic crap, speakers, door cards... i don't miss any of it in terms of convenience and usability (or safety). 0$, not a bad value. carbon body panels, for example, are $100+/lb in weight savings, maybe later. ace header and heavier aftermarket cat back bring me to 150lb, this is approx. 5% of the starting weight

hoping i can get <2000 once i get something to daily/road trip. until then... still a little heavy.

i hope we hear from you again, anthony. we need to know about the car.

Buddy, seriously at this point what's more of a concern is whether Anthony is safe, alive and well! Instead, you have to explicitly point out that "we need to know about the car"...just...lol

I know it's a car forum and all, and you didn't even mean anything bad by your comment but show a bit more tact and sensitivity.

I really hope he's doing ok. The guy had so much passion and dedication which allowed us to benefit tremendously.

Hope you are doing well, Anthony

as someone who deeply admires his efforts, my concern for his well-being goes without saying. i just didn't think realize that he could have gotten sick or died. much like the weight loss process, this thread is just plain addicting! well anyways, i hope you are thriving out there, anthony.

Thank you for the excellent thread Anthony. I just read the entire thing last week and picked out a few new things I could remove to save weight.

I also started a new BRZ / GT86 weight reduction thread on behalf of my personal race car project. Feel free to peep it and let me know what you think. I will be updating it from time to time as I refine. By the way I am based out of TN.

Thread: Nicks Comprehensive 86 Build
