Or, and I know this is really crazy, you could take care of and maintain the one you have

My prediction: existing platform and will retain the same cabin from A pillar to C pillar in deference to the Toyota 2000GT on which it is based. Heavily revised front guards, bonnet, front and rear bumpers. Tuned version of existing FA20.
My rationale: they need to keep costs down, hence the same platform with a huge facelift in terms of front and rear styling. there will be a lot of work required to the FA24 to put it in the twins, normally aspirated, with a rev-happy character that the car deserves. I hope the new car doesn't get fatter. |

The problem is all the non-owners will be looking to crucify someone if there's not a bump in power.

I hope the 2nd gen isn’t that dramatic in terms of power and looks vs. current one. I hope it actually gets worst so it makes our first gen more desirable. I have a 2013- the most ‘raw’ one lol

in terms of looks I really think it will be very hard to top the current model - it does look great, well proportioned. I don't see them straying from the "formula" so I am not expecting an earth shattering change for the next model.

Certainly better, but looks a little bit like Cadillac design language and the eyes would creep me out, still I'd prefer this over the other two.
Also much better, if not a little too much DB9 and the vents in the front need to be toned down. Beautiful car, needs more power to match that aggressiveness, should have been the new Supra.

It will get fatter. And they can't use the current engine, it is maxed out and barely passes emissions as it is now. A larger engine will help them add more power and make emissions easier. Quote:

Care to elaborate? I’d love to read more first hand experiences of people going from early cars to late ones. I think I want to get a 2019-2020 in the near future but I’m afraid that after switching I’ll realize 2 months in that it’s not the same magic.

front wheel drive is a no-go.
i was signed up for kia stinger updates until they announced the lack of a manual transmission on the gt2 version. i do stare every time a charger or challenger goes by, but i just can't get behind the concept of owning an antique land barge that only seats 4-1/2, and doesn't offer a a class 3 hitch.
