The head unit also has 2 bluetooth channels, so the OBD dongle connects to 1 channel, and my phone connects to the other, it's pretty neat.

Irace86's gauge pod setup was my desktop background for quite a while at work, haha
LOL. Do you know if the A6 can run an app such as Torque that can display the OBD2 data without the ECUtek interface?

It runs a mobile android OS, so if you can run it on a phone, it will work on this. Even Pokémon Go (but you can't change from landscape to portrait orientation, so Pokémon Go won't display properly)

I'm running a P3 gauge right now. The car is really only street driven. I live in the hot desert, so my worry is always oil and coolant temps. I basically leave the gauge on oil temp at all times. Being an OBD digital readout, it's nice to be able to flip through the different metrics and recall their highest and lowest values. Having recently supercharged the car, it's been interesting to see the before and after values of everything.

I'm running just the P3 gauge as well. I've also added an oil pressure sensor to it's inputs. It's been very useful clearing codes when I didn't have my scanner handy.

How do you read and clear codes with a P3?

You scroll through the readouts to where it shows active codes, then hold down the select button and it clears it. Been using it for about 5 years on mine.

Thank you! yes that is very much my style as well, going for an OEM+ finish on the install of anything that has an aesthetic appeal.

personally i will also be looking for where in the fire wall that i can run a new batch of wiring. through that i will be running any signal wires as well as a dedicated power and ground lead that goes right to a split distribution block.. pos+ always on, pos+ ignition (relayed from dedicated + in), and negative.

i have half a notion to go with a threaded pass-through like a mil-spec plug.

Going with the Blockhead dual gauge mount which snaps in replacing the side window vent.
Innovate digital oil pressure / oil temp and water temp / battery voltage gauges will be installed.
At this point my under hood sensors are installed only. Next is to route the leads through the firewall and up into the vent. The wire bundle for three sensors with there shielding is quite bulky so routing to the gauges is a bit of a challenge. Taking my time for an OEM clean installion.

I passed a lot of stuff through the sound tube opening once that was deleted.
I also used a tap a fuse wired to a new mini fuse box for easy access to eng on fuses. Alternatively you could do tap a fuse to a relay to have added fuse box wired directly to battery if you planned on running more current through it than a tap a fuse can handle. Or a split box for always on and eng on.
