Unfortunately, it's a small firm. There's not really anywhere to be transferred to. I think it's just time for me to get my resume ready and find another firm to move to.

I was the most junior member of the prosecution team, and I was okay with the constant management involvement because it was a good learning experience. That was three years ago. At this point, I'm not really learning anything and the constant meetings are cutting into my productivity (which cuts into my bottom line). The more meetings I have, the less money I make, and my boss wants to have half hour meetings 5-10 times per week. At a 10 person firm.

Bear in mind, my work product doesn't actually require *any* involvement on his part. It's not without coincidence that my most productive quarter was when I was allowed to work from home for half of the week. I'm no longer allowed to work from home, because he wants to be able to have more meetings.

My 34 year old daughter is experiencing a similar situation.

Maybe I can offer you some advice.

So, how many years has it been since you have passed the USPTO Patent Bar, and have been registered with the USPTO .. ??

Are there other firms within a reasonable commute from where you live or would you have to relocate .. ??

How do your co-workers feel about the number of meetings .. ??

Have you discussed the "meeting situation" with your boss .. ??

Do all of your co-workers get micro managed .. ??

May I ask your age and number of years experience you have in this field ..??

I hear about stories like this all the time and from everywhere. I wonder when would be time for the people of the world to stand up and revolt with their pitchforks.

Then they take over and do exactly the same things that their predecessors did! In fact revolutionaries are often worse micro managers than the people they revolt against.

They all may have had good "ideas" the practical application of those ideas could be a totally different matter.

Cuz power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

USSR seemed to have functioned fairly well, so I don't know where you're getting that idea from.

You missed the sarcasm. I totally understand why they were never an efficient conglomerate of Soviet States and what ultimately led to their downfall.

Thank god they were around for some things though. Modern weapon technology, space race, etc probably would have happened at a much slower pace if the US had no one to compete with

Even with all the German rocket scientists they brought over from the Nazis?

There's always the conspiracy where the military industrial complex is probably 100 years ahead of everything technologically compare to what we use in the real world.

USSR probably didn't like this.
