Bought these from Amazon for $6. Worked great for de-pinning.

I didn’t think I’d like hill assist, but it’s pretty freaking cool! Not nearly as intrusive as I imagined it would be.

I would like to replace the ABS ECU from my MY18 86 to an STi one (to be bought new) with the correct replacement for that MY.
Do I have to check something else?

I already did this swap while finishing my AT to MT swap earlier this year but gotta say this is an excellent writeup! Would have made things easier for me. FYI, there is a difference between the MT and AT versions, according to darthfrs whose writeup I followed for the AT to MT swap. In his Instagram, he thinks the AT ABS module is looking for an AT until he put in a MT ABS module then everything was fine. Hardware is the same, just different software.

Yeah, there also is difference for MY2017 cars themselves, if one follows pic in OP regarding kouki/zenki nannies differences, with brake LSD on AT still being on though with lesser level, unlike on MT, whereas on MT brake LSD off, so programming/firmware probably is different.
So i guess, for MT one needs MY2017 MT ABS module, and for AT (though i predict that AT owners will rarely consider this retrofit) - MY2017 AT ABS.

Can you please confirm that the mechanical part of the ABS is the same for all models?

I have been mocked up Automatic ABS Assembly onto manual car, it didn't work. Car threw error code C1288 control unit matching error. This assembly worked fine on automatic cars.
I think this confirmed Automatic assembly to Automatic cars, Manual to Manual. Watch out when you guys are buying from ebay, must confirm vehicle type before you buy.

@crabarts231 thanks for confirming that MT vs AT origin of module matters.
@Yoshoobaroo imho worth updating OP regarding
Quote:
***Get a module from a car with the same transmission as yours*** We're not sure if it actually makes a difference -and most of us suspect it doesn't- but everyone that has done the swap so far has played it safe.
@gpvecchi: weight balance doesn't change (so also brake bias should not?). Also manufacturers are interested in reusing parts across more cars to save on volume. I doubt a bit for there to be differences in HW/FW (FW mentioned, as it may affect also EBD), unless there is reason for that (eg. different TC/SC off mode for AT/MT)

On page 1, it's mentioned that MY15 cars don't need the repin. Any chance someone could post the ABS unit part number(s) for MY15 cars?

Thanks for all the work on this, it's great we can do this mod!

eBay. I like LeeC Parts (I have no affiliation with them) but there are a few sellers who routinely part out the twins

I got mine from LeeC parts aswell. This search worth monitoring from time to time, and when MY2017 one pops up, catch it from these also listed at ebay (for international shipping option).
