My catch can is inline with the PCV hose. So instead of the having the Edelbrock hose go from the engine to the front of the manifold, I have a hose going from the PCV to the catch can and a return line from the catch can to the manifold.

Step 63 shows the OE PCV hose and step 64 shows the Edelbrock hose you need to interrupt if you want to use a catch can.

CARB tune = 265 fwHP? Isn't that about 225rwHP? Doesn't seem right?

Can't tell much without knowing what a stock/baseline dyno looks like on that dyno....

They both have close to the same peak HP and TQ. I been trying to trace the TQ curves with my mouse and idk if it's just me or it's too early in the morning but there TQ curve doesn't seem to be that much different either between the two.
I can help you.

The flatter curve is the Edelbrock, and the steeper curve is the Rotrex kits.

Ultimately, both kits, are limited by the 92 octane fuel. The Edelbrock's strength is manifested down at the lower RPMs, where it can build boost earlier, but the Rotrex's efficiency is manifested up top, where it makes more torque (and power) at the same level of boost.

The peak differences are that the Rotrex kits have about 20 lb/ft (~15hp) less at 3500 RPM, but have about 25 lb/ft (~30hp) more up top at 6500RPM.

I would confidently say that Drift-Office can probably tune the Rotrex kits to not drop off up top at this point, given their experience.

Ignorre the "flywheel" part.

Green = CARB
Pink = DT FNG 91 (with a few bolt ons)
Purple = DT FNG E85

CSG is a Delicious Tuning dealer, and already has this tune for sale.

One thing I'm curious about and maybe the current owners and perhaps @Edelbrock LLC can shed chime in is what type of maintenance is needed with the kit ie more frequent engine oil changes, intercooler coolant replacement, air filter cleaning/recharging etc. along with their maintenance intervals.

To clear it up a bit and why I hate all the different ways dyno companies display their data. The problem we run into is most everyone wants to see DynoJet number and with Dyno Dynamics you can display the charts in raw wheel horsepower or "Comparison Mode" which is calculated the same as DynoJet.

These numbers are displayed in Dynojet on that display. A baseline of an FRS on this dyno as described below

"Comparison Mode" or DynoHet numbers are 175
Raw Rear Wheel Horsepower numbers are 150
CARB Edelbrock Tune Wheel Horsepower numbers are 225

Sorry for the confusion, but you can blame the dyno companies for all their variances that just confuse everything.

Cheers,
William Knose

Here are some videos from this weekend at Tail of the Dragon. The first one has some supercharger whine in it, which you can't hear in cabin.

So far I'm loving the added power and great response from the kit. Fitment on everything was great, and I can't wait to see what this kit is capable of with E85 soon.

Looking forwards to some updates... Is the tune done now?

It would seem those pesky engineers over at Edelbrock, have chosen to build a kit that is more efficient than we had originally expected, because of this our standard Flash & Go tune that works rather well on many other kits, was leaving a bit on the table with the E-Force Supercharger.

Here is some data from today’s tuning session and our short review of the Edelbrock Kit. First off, the kit itself looks great in the engine bay, fitment and finish are outstanding. Second, the CARB tune that comes with the kit is a great tune right out of the box. We ran three back to back pulls and the variance in power was about 4whp at redline. The design of the kit lends to making a powerful, reliable and consistent package, while still maintaining a linear powerband similar to other twin screw supercharger kits.

Dyno Pull on Flex Fuel with E85

Now for the dyno data:

Dyno Chart #1
Edelbrock’s CARB Tune vs Delicious Tuning’s Edelbrock Flash & Go Tune
- Baseline Edelbrock E-Force CARB Tune on ACN 91 octane (263hp and 205tq)
- Final Delicious Tuning Edelbrock Flash & Go Tune on CAN 91 octane (265hp and 212tq)
- Torque: We were able to increase the low end torque by about 20 ft/lbs around 2500 RPM and maintain an increase to about 4000 RPM.
- Horsepower: Near the top end around 5500 RPM we were able to open up the power gap by 10hp to about redline where the Edelbrock tune meets back up with our tune.

Dyno Chart #2
- Final Delicious Tuning Edelbrock Flash & Go Tune with Flex Fuel on CAN 91 octane (265hp and 212tq)
- Final Delicious Tuning Edelbrock Flash & Go Tune with Flex Fuel on E85 (323hp and 245 tq)
- Torque: Obviously with ethanol you can make some massive improvements in torque across the board. We do have the torque ramp up as the RPM increase to make sure we do not snap any rods, but you will still feel an obvious increase as low as 2500 RPM.
- Horsepower: This is what you are all waiting for; this kit pulls really hard to redline with an extremely wide and linear powerband.

Cheers,
William Knose

1) Love the results from both Edelbrock and Delicious.

2) I just want this SC kit even more now.

3) Is the Delicious tune worth paying the extra $ for on normal gas (I won't be able to use ethanol/flex fuel)... I couldn't care less about the CARB stuff - just worried about reliability, efficiency and safe power.

I'd say use the carb tune (if you're purchasing it with the tune) until you want to go with a smaller pulley.
